18. Party People

Newts POV

We all turned to run out the tunnel,

(Y/N) hand was in mine as we reached the door-

But it was flung open from the other side by the man with tattoos from before,

We all looked at one another before he lunged for us-

He was stopped short though as someone shot him, right in the chest from behind.

I pulled (Y/N) close to me as the girl from earlier stepped forward, she brushed her short hair out her eyes,

"Come on! We cant stay here."

We didnt have much of a choice, so with a nod of Thomas's head we followed.

All the people were in a panic as we got lead to a small area with a broken wall,

I could hear music playing from all over the compound,

Jorge the man who interrogated us was waiting,

"Good to see you hermano's! Now we gotta get out of here and I'll explain everything- but we only got about 3 minutes left till this place blows!"

He attached this weird thing in his hands to what looked like a zip line,

"See you on the other side!"

And with one last push off the ground he sped through the air into the other building.

Minho looked at all of us, then went next!

He landed safely on the other side,

As Aris was buckling up to go next I grabbed (Y/N) by her shoulders,

"You go next love. I'll be right behind you!"

She glared at me and cupped my face with her hands,

"Newt you go first-"

"Not this again-"

"No seriously I- I cant... I dont even think I could hold on for long."

I could feel her hands shaking as she ran her thumb over my cheek,

"...ok ok. Hey you."

I turned to the girl,

"Its Brenda but what do you want?"

"Do you think 2 people can go at a time?"

She looked from a shaking (Y/N) to me,

"I dont see why not. Just dont drop her."

She smirked and handed Teresa a zip line thing to.

I buckled our zip line thing to the wire and wrapped my arm in the tight holding,

I used my other arm to grab (Y/N) waist and hold her close to me,

"Love wrap your legs and arms around me, I can only use one arm alright?"

She hesitated then nodded,

"Ready?"

I asked as I looked down at the drop,

"Ah what the hell."

She said, trying to lighten the mood,

I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and pushed off the ground,

(Y/N) arms wrapped tightly around my neck and her legs were around my waist as she held on,

I could feel my hand in the holding burning, but atleast it wasn't slipping.
