Entering the Upside Down

Papa lead Eleven and I to the bath. Today we're supposed to make contact. I clutch Eleven's arm as we enter a room full of people. Last time there was just Papa, Eleven, and I.

"Don't worry, they're just here to watch. It'll be just like last time," Papa said while nudging us towards a curtain. A women behind the curtain helped us into special vests and shorts. Afterwards, Papa led us up the stairs to have our head pieces put on.

I whimpered as we stepped onto the platform. Papa said something but I didn't hear since I was too focused on the water slowly creeping higher. I started freaking out as the water rose over my head and the tank suddenly went dark. Eleven's hand held mine as we entered the void.

There was the monster in the distance, distracted with the task of eating something. We slowly approached the monster. I reached out my hand to touch it. As I glanced at Eleven I noticed she wasn't reaching out to the creature. I hesitated but after thinking about the consequences that would occur, I decided to touch the monster.

Before I could even blink, claws slashed me. I gave a pained and frightened cry as the monster grabbed me. I watched Eleven disappear before I passed out.
