Chapter 2: what a jerk

" you are an asshole you know that !" I say screaming as me and Andrew walk into our house ,
" so I'm an asshole for sticking up for you ?!" He replies back , I shove out of my way as he blocks the stairs ,
" I told you to stay out of it!" I scream back , my mom comes from the backyard,
" what is all this screaming ?" She says walking into the living room, me and Andrew reply :
" I was sticking up for her and now she's upset!"
" I told Andrew to not say anything to Christian!"
As we reply at the same time my mom looks at both of us , she clears her throat ,
" Um, well you guys need to stop arguing!" She says , I groan and go up to my room , I slam my door and lay on my bed , why did it have to be me? Why couldn't it be someone who wants to be seen ? I look at my closet and see my jeans hanged up ,
" really jeans ? Now you want to show up?" I say to my jeans , I'm weird I know .
" jade let's go we have to check out a restaurant!" I hear my mom say from downstairs, I get up and run downstairs,
" which restaurant is it ?" I say as I get downstairs, she puts on her sweater given it's kind of cold outside today .
" a restaurant called junior's" I know exactly what restaurant she's talking about ,
" oh the one with the arcade and stuff ? All the students of my school go there especially on weekends" I tell her , we exit the house and she locks the door and we head to the car ,
" well than your gonna be glad you came with me then, it's Friday" I stop and sigh of annoyance , great now I have to see these annoying people I'm forced to go to school with . I get in the car and we drive to the restaurant.
" so who's the owner mom?" My mom is a food critic she could easily shut down restaurants with the snap of her finger .
" Meredith star , I just have to interview her and try the food" my heart stops as she says that last name , did she really just say that last name ?
" did you..did you say star ?" Ask her hesitantly , she looks at me then back at the road .
" yeah , why is something wrong?" She asks , I shake my head no ,
" nothing at all" I force a smile and look out the window ,

As we arrive at the restaurant I get immediate anxiety, what if..Christians there?
" honey head right in I have to grab a few things" my mom says , I look at her and nod slowly,
" sure mom , I'll head right in" I say in a nervous chuckle, she looks at me and chuckles.
" you teenagers are strange sometimes" I hear her say , I turn and head inside, I look around and this restaurant is pretty nice , I know it's definitely embarrassing I've never been here but I just hate being around so many people .
" table for one?" I hear a waiter say , she looks familiar, she must go to falcon high like me.
" Um no I'm actually the food critics daughter I'm waiting for her to come inside" I explain to her , she smiles and nods before walking away ,
" did you say food critics daughter ?" I look over to who spoke and my breathing stops as I see Christian sitting next to I'm assuming his mother who just spoke and his father, she gets up and approaches me ,
" hello I'm Meredith star I'm the owner of the restaurant" she extends her hand out and I shake it politely ,
" nice to meet you mrs star , my name is jade Hopkins" I look to see Christian glaring at me , ugh what is his problem with me?
" oh please you can call me Meredith" she says smiling , she seems genuinely nice .
" so my mom is interviewing you today ?" I ask her , she nods ,
" I just hope she passes me , if she doesn't my restaurant could get shut down" as she says that a thought pops in my head , I look at Christian and he looks tensed , I smirk and look at Meredith,
" so you mean my mother could shut down the restaurant if she doesn't approve ?" I ask her , I look at Christian and let me tell you , he looks so angry . But that just makes me happy .
" yes, so let's hope for the best" she says smiling , I nod and the door opens ,
" sorry for the hold up I couldn't find the signing papers" I hear my mom say coming in , they introduce each other and my mom turns to me ,
" jade why don't you go explore a bit while I do some business work okay ?" I nod and I walk further into the restaurant, I look behind me to see Christian getting up and walking my direction, I turn back forward, I enter the arcade room and there's so many people here ,
" hello jade" I turn to see Christian, I roll my eyes not even fighting it this time ,
" what do you want ?" I ask him crossing my arms , he walks closer and I back up wanting my space ,
" I know we got on the wrong foot , I'd like to apologize for that" he says smiling down at me , I scoff at this so called apology ,
" you think that apology is sincere? Your only saying sorry because you know I can shut down your mothers restaurant" I tell him , his eyes get dark , is it getting hot in here ? He grabs my arms and my eyes widen at his sudden action ,
" listen princess, you don't want me on your bad side so I suggest you cut the bull shit and keep my mother out of this" as he says that his grip on my arms start to hurt ,
" let go your hurting me" I say with a whimper , he immediately let's go which I'm surprised about ,
" I'm sorry , I didn't mean to hurt you . Just don't shut down my mothers restaurant, she's worked hard" he says , he stares at me for a moment before walking away ,
" fine" he stops and turns to look at me , I walk up to him .
" I'll make sure it doesn't get shut down if , you leave me the hell alone" I tell him , he chuckles and I stare at him with confusion, what was funny about that ?
" no" did he just , did he just say no ? Are you freaking kidding me?!
" w-what do you mean no?" I ask him, his hand goes to my cheek and he caresses my cheek like he did in the locker room ,
" your very interesting jade" he trails off , the way my name rolls out of his mouth gives me butterflies, he walks behind me and I am paralyzed,
" I'm debating if I want to keep you for entertainment" I quickly turn to face him , who does he think he is ?
" entertainment? Are you serious ? These are my terms leave me alone or I will shut this place down take it or leave it" I say in an angry tone , he stares at me for a moment and I see a smirk forming on his perfect lips ..wait what ? Snap out of it Hopkins !
" deal , I'll leave you alone little one" he says , I roll my eyes ,
" stop calling me that" I say to him , how did he even come up with these nicknames ?!
" alright, princess" I groan in annoyance and walk away ,
" see you around" I hear him say , I smile and shake my head .
