• 4 - Welcome To Earth •

(G/N) was in shock.

Not only had she discovered that her old leader was surprisingly alive (in some way) after all these years, she'd also lost the only friend to give her happiness and fun. All in the space of five minutes.

After some thought, (G/N) decided that it would be best to look for Spinel. She knew that Spinel needed comfort, especially from a close friend.
But where to look?
Spinel could have headed anywhere in the cosmos.
Then she remembered the boy from the message...

Earth.

She could search there for Spinel!
Even if she's not there, it was the only idea that (G/N) had. And maybe she could find some clues along the way...

(G/N) let out a breath and wiped the sweat off her forehead as she steered the ship away from Homeworld.

She had taken a ship from Homeworld since she couldn't use the Warps. She felt quite sad knowing that she wouldn't be allowed back on her home planet, and that she would be known as a criminal from now on for stealing a ship.

(G/N) shook her head to get rid of the thoughts. She placed her hands over the controls and pressed the correct buttons to get her on the right track; to Earth. She had no time to dwell on the past... (G/N) had to look for Spinel.

That was her number one priority.

(G/N) landed the ship on Earth. She landed as close to where she thought Spinel would be as possible based on the ship's radar, it was a small place called Beach City. The ship landed next to a house on the beach next to the sea, and was about the same size as the cute home.

The gem exited the ship and looked around. Her eyes landed on a huge machine sitting on a hill next to a lighthouse.
Could she be there..? She thought.
(G/N) cautiously made her way up the hill, walking around the machine and observed it. It was filled with some sort of pink substance which was oozing into the ground through the drill at the bottom. Suddenly, (G/N) heard talking. It came from in front of the lighthouse.
Peering out from behind the drill, (G/N) observed the conversation before she decided what to do next.

First, (G/N) saw a familiar face. It was the face of a human; the human boy from the message.
He was Pink Diamond's son, and his name was Steven Universe.
The pink gem noticed that he was battling another gem, they were fighting over a sort of glowing scythe.
(G/N) stared at the other pink gem for a few moments.

Spinel..?

How could it be? She looked so different...

This gem's hair was noticeably darker, and was in messy pigtails that seemed to defy gravity by spiking upwards. Her usually bright pink hue was also darker, including her shirt changing from white to a dark, dark pink. Her shoes also changed from cute little bubbly ones to longer boots with spiked ends.
Something that made (G/N) sad was the very noticeable tear marks on this gem's face. Her eyes were also the tiniest bit red, that must have been from crying as well.

(G/N) still refused to believe that this depressed looking gem was her usually happy best friend. But one little detail convinced her otherwise.

The gem.

It was the exact same heart that was on Spinel's chest, only upside down.

"Your human half won't stand a chance against my injector!" Spinel yelled to the boy, who (G/N) now knew as Steven.
Is that what this is? An injector? (G/N) thought, staring at the pink liquid pouring into the Earth. She took a few steps back, and then forward towards the other two.
Spinel began laughing as Steven pulled the scythe away from her and into his grasp. He swung it at her, but missed. She laughed harder, teasing and taunting him. He growled angrily at her, and stared at the ground. A couple of gems were in the grass, they must have been proofed by this weapon.
By Spinel..? She would never hurt anyone...
Not (G/N)'s Spinel. But she knew that this gem wasn't the same as her best friend. Spinel had changed. And through everything, (G/N) still wanted to help.

Steven swung the scythe at Spinel again.
"No!"
A gem came running out from behind the injector: (G/N). She ran between Spinel and Steven, in the direction of his attack. (G/N) saw the confused look on Steven's face, and the surprised look on Spinel's. It looked like there was the tiniest hint of another sad emotion mixed with it. Worry? Regret?

That was (G/N)'s last thought before she saw.. nothing.
