Georgia stanways first day at camp !

13th october

Georgia walked to her dads car and jumped into the passenger seat. Today was her first day at the england camp. Phil called her last week to tell her she's been selected to be a training player for the Brazil match this Thursday! She was extremely exited but also nervous for this big opportunity as she was only 18 and only been at city for 2 years.

"Hi sweetie, how you feeling? Always remember that I'm so proud of what you've achieved your literally living your dream!" Her dad said whilst starting the engine

"Ye I'm exited! Slightly nervous to be honest dad, what if the girls don't like me ?or I'm roomed with someone who I don't get on with? Or I can't sleep? Or I get really badly homesick?" Georgia panicks and stares deeply into her fathers eyes trying to look for comfort

"Look g your going to be nervous this is a massive step in your career! And the girls will love you and you know Steph and she will look out for you! Just remember when you had your first day at city and you were petrified but you went in and as soon as the ball was at your feet you forgot about us and it felt like you had been there forever!" Her dad reassured

They slowly pulled up to at George's park and g climbed out of the car and got her suitcase out the boot. She hugged her dad tightly and took a deep breath and walked into the doors of the hotel to be greeted by Phil who was waiting for his newest player to arrive.

"Hey g, I've been waiting for you! Umm ... I just want to make sure that your alright being roomed with Leah Williamson. I know you don't know her but she's a lovely girl and offered to room with you she's only 2 years older and I'm sure your going to get on with her!" Phil said with a massive smile on his face

G thanked Phil and nodded to his question. She didn't know Leah but heard from the city girls that she was one of the nicest so was happy to be rooming with her.
Phil told her that some of the city girls were already here and that she should go up to her room to drop her bags off first.g walked up the stairs which seemed to take forever to finally arrive at a door with the number 204 on. She unlocked and walked in only to find her room mate sitting in one of the two beds located in the room with the another lionesses , Jordan Nobbs. G smiled awkwardly and went to say hi but nothing came out of her mouth. Leah laughed and I traduces herself and Jordan.

"Hey I'm Leah! I'm exited to meet you. You nervous?"

"Just a bit! It's all very exiting tho , but ye kinda scared what people are going to think of me!" G replied fidgeting with her fingers

"Well you seem nice so I like you which is one person to take off your list!" Jordan smiled

"Umm Leah where should I put my bags?" G asked

"Anywhere is your room too g ! Wait can I call you that?" Leah said

"Ye of course ! That's what everyone at city calls me" g replied

They both unpacked and eventually walked down to dinner to meet the rest of the girls. Whilst walking down g had horrible butterflies in her stomach and she felt like she was going to be sick with nerves. They walked through two massive doors until the arrived at the canteen. It was very clean and fancy and was high spec *which g was expecting anyway* they went over to 3 free seats located on a table with 4 other lionesses. Steph Houghton, Ellie roebuck, Lucy bronze and Keira Walsh. G knew these people well so it calmed her nerves. Steph looked over at her and mouthed
"You okay?" With a welcoming smile. G nodded and continued eating her food.
Later on that night g had a horrible feeling in her stomach again and rushed to the toilet Steph following after her. As soon as g entered she threw up! Steph quickly gave her a tissue and gave her some water. G was so embarrassed and her eyes started to water.

"G take a deep breath" Steph said

"I can't! Steph I can't do this!" G cried

"G take a breath! Trust me your one of the most talented 18 yr olds I know so don't be silly ! Yes this is scary and I know you've been through shit in your life but you proving all these people who have said to you that you can't do it that you actually can!" Steph pulled g in for a hug and wiped away her tears.

" what if I let the team down or I don't sleep and I'm tired for tomorrow or I accidentally say the wrong thing and someone hates me!"g stressed

"If that happens it happens then you message me in the morning or whenever and we go to tell Phil that you didn't have a good sleep so he doesn't expect much from you okay !" Steph calmed the teenager down and they took a deep breath and went back into the corridor where there were sofas that the team was sitting on. Steph gestured to Leah to come over to talk to g.

" hey g , how's it going?" Leah said
"Eh I don't know" g said her eyes tearing up again. Leah pulled her in for a hug and told her to take a breath. Steph smiled and walked the two back to the sofas and they joined into the conversation that was happening. G staying quiet but still saying her input once in a while.

When the clock striked 10pm the lionesses went to their rooms. G was walking with Leah and Steph and then Steph gave g a hug and told her that if she needs her then message her. G nodded and followed Leah I the room.
