A hopeful summer

It's Christmas in the summer
It's winter in the spring
My hearts gone cold
So I won't know
What summers ought to bring
Sunny day's
A golden haze
All spent beneath a tree
But I will only know
The warmth
That you will bring to me
You kept me 'live in winter
And kept me dead in spring
So now I really want to see
What summers ought to bring
Perhaps you'll open up your arms
I'll listen to you sing
Of melted hearts
And finer arts
And feelings deepening
But I could never guess my dear
Your feelings could grow cold
I know you couldn't stand to bear
Your feelings growing old
So for now I'll lay here
With my heart opening
And keep on waiting
Just to see
What summers ought to bring
