The natural order

Who are you?
Are you a rabbit
Or a wolf

The wolf loves the rabbit
Not for their beautiful fur
their quick minds
Or their kind hearts
But their delicious flesh
The wolf stalks the rabbit
Watching from afar
Ever so silent until...
They strike.

The rabbit hates the wolf
Between the powerful jaws
The razor sharp teeth
And their frozen glare
The rabbit is terrified
They hide it diligently
If the wolf senses their fear
They're certainly doomed
So they pretend until...
They run

Now if the wolf loves the rabbit
And the rabbit hates the wolf
Then the rabbit loves the deer

And the deer despises all
The wolf for its power
The rabbit for its weakness
Itself for its fragility
And all for their instinct
The wolf hunts the rabbit
The rabbit seeks pity from the deer
And the deer...
Wants nothing to do with either

The wolf acts as a deer
It may stand tall
Glance about serenely
Conduct itself gently
And the rabbit falls for it
The rabbit seeks comfort
The wolf protects it until...
It devours it whole

Both of them quite similar
A wolf cannot love
Due to its carnal desires
It's need for flesh
And it's deepest instincts
A wolf will never truly love a rabbit

A rabbit cannot defend itself
Due to its small size
It's weak gentle body
And its trusting nature
A rabbit will always be devoured

A wolf is a predator
A rabbit it's prey
So says the natural order
So I'll ask you again
Are you a wolf?
Or a rabbit?
