She's put in the work
taken her time
to find what she likes
learning about herself
in his doings
He was there for her
since that night
but over time
things began
to turn complicated
No more was it a honeymoon
but the reality they were fighting
and running to break free from
They tried to find a way
yet to their dismay
nothing would relent
to let them be together
or warrant any peace
in maddening solitary.
-so much for the happy ending
