It was around 6pm, outside the sun was setting; the air starting to get chilly as the moon rose further with every inch that the sun set. It was as if the approaching moon brought along a chill with it as night time was always colder than the day.

Meiqi sat on her bed, dressed in a rose gold silk robe and her wet hair sticking to her forehead and neck. Her eyes observed the changing colours of the sky whiles she towel dried her shampooed hair. She stopped for a minute to take in the sight before her.

The sky was now covered in a blissful orange with only bits of soft pinks and fluffy blues coating the sheet laid out across the sky. In a moment or so, the orange began to fade to a very light yellow, not identifiably yellow but rather just a light that now illuminated the clouds. The fluffy blue took over the canvas and the pinks slowly faded. This was her personal favourite time of the evening.

The yellow light splaying across the clouds looked like those decorations Dalgeum had hung in her room. She wasn't quite sure what they were called but she remembered that they were clouds hanging from her ceiling. They weren't really clouds but rather hanging lightbulbs coated in layers upon messy layers of...was it cotton? She wasn't too sure, she never asked how it was made, she just assumed it was cotton. It's not like it could have been real clouds.

Meiqi smiled and her eyes twinkled. Meiqi was undoubtedly a very marvelous girl in appearance but right now was when she was the most beautiful. Everyone would always tell her that. When her eyes twinkled with happiness and satisfaction was when she looked the most mesmorising, it was when everyone would become absolutely captivated by her presence. She was aware of that because when her eyes lit up she could feel it and she could see herself, as if she had astral projected out of her body and gazed upon herself.

The sky, she found, was the most fascinating thing to her. She knew what was up there yet, at the same time, she wasn't very sure what was up there. According to her textbooks, up there was just clumps of water vapour dancing with the wind and invisible layers to protect us from the sun. But looking at the sky right now, looking at the clouds, Meiqi thought that if she kept her eyes glued on it long enough she was sure to see a baby with angel wings peak it's little head out from behind a cloud and wave to her.

A vibration from her dresser brought her out of her dream state. She looked towards her mahogany dresser and saw that her phone screen had lit up, someone was calling her. She couldn't see the ID from here though. She put down the small towel and got up, grabbing onto the small stereo remote and lowering the volume of her stereo set. She had almost forgotten that she was listening to music; tuning in to the current song she quickly realised it was Daydream, a song by one of her favourite artists which really fit the mood.

She put down the remote and picked up the phone, she smiled when she saw the caller ID. '蛋蛋' (dandan), the literal translation was 'egg egg', that was Kun's nickname. She wasn't too sure why it was his nickname but his friends called him that, plus it was adorable so she didn't mind. She slid across the green answer button and put the phone to her ears, "Hello dandan." Her voice was a bit raspy as she had taken a nap before showering so she settled for a mellow but pleased greeting.

She didn't know how but she knew he was smiling on the other side of the phone, she could clearly see the indents of his dimples on his cheeks and his cute teeth as he smiled. "Xiaomao", this was his nickname for her, he had a lot but this was her favourite one; xiao 小 for her last name and mao 猫 for cat because Kun thought she reminded him of a cat, put together it formed 小猫 which meant kitten or literally translated to small cat, "Are you ready?"

She hummed, "I still have to get dressed, I was just drying my hair." She walked over to her closet, opening the white doors and shifting the racks of clothing. "What're you gonna wear tonight?", her eyes wandered upon the clothing and for the first time in her life she had absolutely no idea what she wanted to wear. "What do you want me to wear?" This earned a deep chuckle from Kun, she knew he was just itching to make a perverted comment but he didn't. He could sense the mood was light-hearted, sweet and tender. He knew better than to ruin it.
