I don't recommend listening while reading the book. It's hard to concentrate on one thing.

(Hongjoong's POV)

I was arrested for attempt of murder.

The police yanked my bloody arms. I only saw the whites of the eyes, ghostly skin, and the stream of blood continuously flooding down his forehead. It was so chaotic. I remember screaming till my throat went dry; every muscle in my arm resisting the force while my feet firmly planted in the frozen garden soil.

With a gasp I wailed, "LET GOOO! I'M INNOCENT!"

WEE WOO WEE WOO WEE WOO
WEE WOO WEE WOO WEE WOO

The muffled shouts and sirens bombard my hearing. So did the screams of other residents.

My vision was bombarded with flashing lights and blurs of whites were rushing over to the bloodstained victim. Snippets of cameras flashing into his image, the vibrant full moon glared into the pits of my soul. The eyes were the only sense alive, probing every horrified face in the balconies of the hospital.

Then the foul stench of iron infilled my nostrils.

Suddenly every inch of my body gave up. They dragged me like a rag doll into the police car.

My shoes trudged through the snow. I saw the victim on a stretcher but in the next moment I was behind bars of a police car.

My vision was cut by those gray bars and the fast speed of the car.

However even with a snippet, I could clearly see the victim's murderous glare.

His eyes said I'll kill you.

And my trial was scheduled the very next week, it was rare for a case to occur in this time and the case was so bizarre and horrendous that it was planned in such a jiffy. Although I barely had seven days, each second felt like a thousand years. Each tick of the clock gave a small stab to the heart. For a week the local police locked me in a temporary solitary prison where I was fed, clothed and was given a mattress and a blanket to sleep in and all I could think about was the look in the victim's eyes.

The seventh day passed and at exactly 10 am, they shoved me into a car with cuffed wrists and ankles. Ha, after that day I saw small bruises and scars. The ride was silent and I prayed to the lord that my parents have mercy on me.

Also, I wasn't issued a lawyer.

All eyes are on me. The elderly judge and juries silently stare. The audience and lawyer's expressions are unreadable. The defendant  has a bloody bandage on his forehead. Turning my head to the right, I sees my parents but not their eyes.

I'm escorted to the offender's chair and the judge clears his throat.

The elderly man's voice is quiet but clear. "We will start with this case."

Everyone stands up for the anthem with their right hands over their heart.

With a calm voice I say my vows while my thoughts are clouded with the possible future. Then, the lawyer holds the defendant's arm to help him stand and his eyes start to tear. The victim mutters a small "yes" to every vow.

The judge briefly explains the case,

"On 21:30 on December 22nd 2018, Kim Hongjoong visited Dae Lim Mental Hospital and requested a visit for Kim JooHong claiming that he's a relative. They walked out to the garden unaccompanied by his nurse. By 21:45, a faculty member alerted the police and Kim Hongjoong was arrested for attempt of murder."
