I ended up staying for dinner, Daisy gave me a triumph look when I arrived home on cloud nine. She raised an eyebrow and I nodded, she squealed, "I told you so," I had never been more happy for her to be right.

My parents heard her squeal and gushing, and my dad asked, "So I take that you have a boyfriend now?"

"Yeah, but I mean he didn't say that specifically but we are together yeah," I prayed that this wasn't all just a dream, or a cruel joke the universe was playing on me.

"So now when he come over do I have to ask you to keep the doors open?" Mami teased.

"It's not like they can get pregnant, and we do not want to traumatise Daisy," my dad argued.

"Fine, the doors can stay close but please you do know that you still have to use protection right?" Mami said, I was sure I was as red as Daisy's shirt.

"Yes I know okay," the three of them laughed at me, and I couldn't help but joined in.

"Hey," I said to Kade as I get in his car, before the door fully closed, he pulled me and clashed our lips together.

I couldn't help grinning against his lips, my hands wove themselves into his carefully styled hair, and I could hear him groaned. He pulled away before I could mess up his hair.

"Hands off, it took me half an hour," he whined, attempting to fix his hair, but failing miserably, I chuckled and he glared at me.

"You were the one who kissed me first, not my fault,"

"Fuck you," he said without heat, he gave up and finally drove out of my driveway.

"Not now, we have school,"

He rolled his eyes, and I laughed again, that brought a smile onto his face.

Once we arrived, quite a few of our friends commented on Kade's hair, who waved dismissively and evaded their questions.

The day went by as usual and practice was tough as hell, competitions were going to start soon and coach was pushing us extra hard. But none of it matter, because I was high on life and it was a miracle that no one noticed how much we were looking at each other.

"You want to come by for dinner? I think I'll tell them tonight," Kade tried to sound nonchalant but he couldn't fool me.

"Yeah sure," I quickly texted Mami telling her that I would be having dinner at Kade's.

I spoke about my art assignments and volleyball, trying to ease Kade. Too soon, we arrived and could only go up to his room and wait.

If I thought Kade was nervous when he confessed, I was wrong. This was the most nervous I had ever seen him, I tried to reassure him that his parents would accept him and not judge.

"Wendy and Pete are good people, seriously you have nothing to worry about."

"I know, but we are Christians, isn't it kind of against God? I mean some Christians believe that,"

"Then those aren't real Christians, and you don't have to do it today, take your time, you just found out yesterday," But I knew that he just wanted to get it over with, and Kade was not the type of person to hide something this big from his parents.

"Yeah but I don't want to hide around with you, and they are my parents, I want them to know,"

"Kade," Wendy knocked and then came in, thank god we weren't doing anything, but there was a dubious look on her face, "What do you want us to know?" She asked softly.

Kade couldn't look her in the eye and looked at me desperately, but it wasn't like I could help him confess, he had to do it himself. I nodded in encouragement at him, finally he turned and looked at Wendy.

"I'm demisexual," he finally said.

"Okay," Wendy still looked uncertain,"that means?"

"I am attracted to any gender as long as I have a strong emotional bond with them,"

Wendy still looked confused, she looked at me, then at her son, and finally she understood, "so you are dating Zacharias?"

Kade looked taken back, but managed to nod, and looked at me for confirmation like he wasn't sure that we were dating.

"And that's it?" Wendy's eyes twinkled with relief and a smile blossomed on her face.

"That's it?" Kade repeated after his mother in disbelief.

"You just realised you like Zacharias?" Wendy laughed.

"What?" Kade and I said in unison.

"Honey, your dad and I figured it out like years ago," Wendy continued to laugh at our dumbstruck faces, "well congratulations, but we didn't know if you will ever have the guts, and if Zacharias will return the feelings. Who confessed first?" She looked at Kade expectedly. Kade shook his head, now Wendy finally looked surprise.

"Kade! Are you that oblivious?" Wendy shook her head, "I came here to ask what do you guys want for dinner, lasagna or baked ziti?"

"Baked ziti, thanks," I answered, since Kade was still tongue-tied, poor Kade, everyone knew before him.

Wendy nodded and then closed the door, leaving a stunned Kade.

"So everyone knew before me," Kade finally said.

"Yup," I couldn't help but laugh. Kade, the forever smart but dense dumbass, my dumbass.

He groaned, and I cut him off before he could complain more. His lips were too busy with mine to complain again.
