The morning of my forced partner project get together with Bakugo, I woke up tired and still in my clothes from the previous day.

I felt irritable from the get go, but I wasn't going to let that stop me from getting my shit done. That's for damn sure.

Grateful that I had prepared my backpack the day before, I rush out the door and once again barely get to my first class of the day. As I slip into my seat behind Bakugo, I'm grateful when he ignores me. That's definitely a wack state of mind to be in. Grateful to be ignored. That was my life. Great.

I zone out through all of first block, absorbed in my own little world. I can feel how on edge and combative my mood is and I know I need to shake it off, but I'm uncharacteristically irritable.

"Yo, Izuku!" I hear, yanking me from my thoughts.

"What?" I snap, a glare working it's way into my facial features. My glare reaches it's victim and I immediately feel regret as the harsh expression melts off my face. Kaminari didn't deserve the wrath of my irritability. I couldn't do that to him.

"Woah there tiger, looks like somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed." he teases with a smile, not letting my mood phase his happy go lucky nature in the slightest.

"Sorry dude." I sigh, "I am not feeling life today, I guess." I state dejectedly. I throw my rucksack over my shoulder absentmindedly and allow my body to stand and follow Kaminari out of the classroom, dragging my feet as I go.

"Vibes." he responds with a knowing nod, "We can't control the hand life deals us, but we can-"

"Control the way we deal with the hand life gives us." I finish off the anecdote Kaminari often quoted. He beams back at me, chuffed as chips that I remembered his stupid philosophy. "I know, I know. I guess I'm just in a mood." I admit, sheepishly.

"Well dude, we got gym next and it's a free workout period. You know what that means." he says grinning like a mad lad and practically bouncing with every step he took.

"BOYS!"

Kami and I turn, knowing the call of our best friend coming from behind us. Sero was running down the hallway towards us, weaving in and out of groups of students meandering to their next classes. The dark haired boy finally reaches Kaminari and myself, immediately throwing his arms around our shoulders and drawing us in closer to him.

"How it be, how it do boys?!" he asks excitedly, continuing to speak without waiting for an answer, "I just heard a rumour that it's free workout in gym next period. And y'all know what that means!" he exclaims ecstatically.

Kaminari laughs at Sero's words and I can't help but feel energized by my friends' buzzing excitement.

"Oh I know what that means," Kami says as we take a sharp left turn into the boys locker room, forcing Sero to release us. "But get this Sero, Mido is in a baaaaaad mood this morning." he pouts with an exaggerated frown.

"Okay, it's not that bad Sero I swear." I say, hands up in surrender as I shoot Kami a dirty look for outing my mood to Sero. We had arrived at our cluster of lockers in the far corner of the locker room. I dropped my backpack onto the blue plastic bench situated in the centre of the aisle of lockers.

Sero gasps dramatically, a hand flying to his forehead as he posed like a damsel in distress. "A bad mood? On such a monumental occassion as free workout?" he asks feigning shock, "Why this is preposterous! Kami, you know what this means don't you?" he asks my other friend, deviously.

"Why yes Sero, I think I do." he responds, his tone equally as mischevious.

"C'mon guys. You've got to be kidding me. We are eighteen years old, you are not going to pull this shit on me." I cautiously remark, backing away from the duo as they slowly creeped closer to me.
