📖 3 | A Manager 📖

Yeo Changgu

"Ok so, you're Yeo Changgu right?" The woman asked me and I instantly said yes. The woman sighed in relief as she gave me smile. Not knowing what to do, I smiled back.

"So you really don't know why the CEO brought you here?" The man asked as I looked at Mr.Yanan, who was just staring at me while smiling. I was honestly creeped out by this dude but if I have to behave, I'll do it.

I shook my head no, which shocked the two and looked at Mr.Yanan intensely, which Mr.Yanan just scratched the back of his head as he apologized to the both of them.

"So Yeo Changgu, we've sent you here for one thing. And that is to be the CEO's personal manager." The man said said as I widened my eyes in shock. Not just a manager, but a personal manager. I gulped as they offered me a high position compared to what I was applying for.

"So basically in this job, you'll monitor the CEO and help him when he needs something. It basically like a secretary's job, but more advanced." The woman explained as I nodded my head. I just can't comprehend what happened today. I'm drived to the building by the CEO, which by the way is a creepy man, and I'm offered one of the highest jobs someone can have.

I mean, I'm fine being a personal manager, but I don't know if I can be a manager of this dude. He seems like a freak. He just stares at me and grins from ear to ear. Turning my attention back to the offer, I was interested how it'll go.

"So, how much is the salary pay and how long am I going to work under him?" I asked business-wise because this might be a scam. They handed me a paper which seemed like the contract information and salary pay.

I widened my eyes in shock as I tried to blink more. I looked at the salary pay again and gasped internally.

"As you can see, we do have a high salary for you, since this job is high and very important." The man explained as the numbers were high. Roughly about ₩675,000 ($550).

"It sure is high... This isn't a scam right?" I asked as I was very hesitant if I can trust their offer. The three of them just laughed, seeing it as a joke which made me embarassed.

"Yes Mr.Yeo, we don't back down from our promises and make sure we fulfill your efforts in work." The woman said as she assured me. Now that is cleared, I'm still hesitating if I'll take the offer because I don't trust the CEO, Mr.Yanan.

"We also assure you that you are secured to for your privacy and all of the sorts." The woman added, which made everything now clear for me. I pushed all doubts aside and decided to take the opportunity.

"I'll take the job offer." I responded as the three of them smiled widely. The man and woman stood up and offered me a handshake, ofcourse I stood up as well and shook both of their hands to be respectful.

I signed some papers like contracts and such and the woman gave me a file folder, which contained all the stuff I needed to do and my new boss' schedule throughout the whole year.

"So, all of these things are settled now. You may start working tomorrow Mr.Yeo." The man said as he gave me a warm smile. I wonder if the workers here are hospitable as well.

"We have our numbers on that file folder so if you need something like having trouble or if we need you, you can identify us easily." The woman said which I took a peek inside the first page where their numbers are there.

"I will, thank you so much." As I was dismissed, I stood up and bowed down to show respect. I grabbed my stuff and was ready to leave, as Mr.Yanan followed me.

"Uhm, do you need something Mr.Yanan?" I asked as he followed me until here outside, which freaked me out a little bit. He looked at me as he scooted himself closer to me.

"Do you want a ride back home?" He asked as I looked around, it wasn't raining so I didn't want to bother him and decide to not accept his offer.

"No thanks Mr.Yanan, its not raining anymore so I'm good to go-"

"I insist." He said as he held my arms. Now I'm conflicted on what to do. I didn't really want to bother him but now he insisted. I'm kinda freaked out by him, getting sticky with me as he was persistent to help me I guess?

"Uhm... Sure I guess." I just agreed since I had no choice. He seemed so happy that I agreed that I can't help but to laugh at his face.

"Why are you laughing?" He asked as I quickly silenced myself, shaking my head no in response.

"Anyways, just call me Yanan since you're my manager now." He clearly doesn't look like Korean with his features and name but he's very attractive to say the least.

"Or you can call me yours." Yanan said jokingly (which I hoped not) and this is one of the reasons I'm hesitant to be his personal manager.

We both sit at the backseat as the driver asked where to go now.

"The Central Mall please." Yanan said with enthusiasm as I was shocked. Before I can even say to go home, this dude literally juked me.

"But I thought you'll bring me home?" I asked Yanan as he just shrugged with a smirk on his face. I lightly smacked his arms as he laughed. God please help me with this one.
