Chapter Four| Lily

"It's okay, Aleks." I whisper, pulling him into a tight hug as he cries into my chest. "Please stop crying, I'm here." I feel my own eyes start to water.

I've never seen him like this. He's always been so strong headed.

"Please don't give up on me, Lily. No matter what I do." He whimpers, tightening his hold around my waist.

"I won't. Where is this all coming from?" I pull him away from my chest and wipe his tear stained cheeks.

He looks at me with so much vulnerability in his eyes, I feel my heart start to break further.

"I just want to be with you right now." He whispers and takes his shoes and jeans off before climbing into my bed. "Please, Lily. I just want to hold you." I bite my lip and nod my head.

I climb in next to him and he wraps his arms around my waist.

"Are you sleepy?" I question him.

"No."

"I know what will cheer you up." I beam and reach for the remote, switching my tv on.

"And what's that?" He smiles, resting an arm behind his head.

I smirk. "Princess and the Frog!"

"Lily." I groan when I hear Aleksio try and wake me up. "Baby, wake up." I open one eye and see him looking down at me with a sad smile.

"What's wrong?" I sit up and rub the sleep out of my eyes.

"I gotta go." He gets up from the bed and starts putting his jeans and shoes on.

"Okay, I'll see you at school?" He looks away from me and I frown. "Aleksio? I'll see you at school, right." I say more sternly.

"Tell me you love me." Is the only thing he says and that only raises my frustration.

"Aleksio, why can't you just answer my question?" I throw my arms up.

"Lily, tell me you love me." He whispers and I shake my head causing him to furrow his eyebrows and look at me in shock.

"Tell me that I'll see you at school." I raise my eyebrows at him.

I watch him clench his jaw and then he nods. "You'll see me at school, now tell me you love me."

"Love you." I roll my eyes and decide to go back to sleep for another hour, seeing it's only five in the morning.

"I love you, Lily." He mumbles and then leaves.

When I get to school a few hours later I see no sign of Aleksio and assume that he is just late. But as the day goes on, I still don't see him and come to the conclusion that he's lied to me.

I send him a couple messages but he does not reply and as soon as I know it, it's the end of the school day.

"Joshua!" I yell as I see Aleksio's best friend. He spins around when he hears his name being called and smiles when he sees me.

I run up to him, getting ready to question him. "You okay, doll?" He adjusts the silver chain around his neck and winks at me. I pout and shake my head.

"Where's Aleksio?" I watch him gulp and he then avoids eye contact with me. He adjusts his white t-shirt that contrasts against his dark skin.

"Josh, don't make me get my dad to beat you up. Remember what happened those many years ago." He flinches as I recall the memory of when my dad was ready to beat him up when he accidentally pushed me out of the treehouse.
