one mention of sexual abuse in one
character's background (very non-
graphic, only the word is mentioned)
and there will be two mentions of
relationships between underage
characters and a non-underage
character. there will also be a
mention of unintentional infant
death towards the end. finally, the
six queens are symbolic and are
meant to symbolize something but
i'll let you guys figure that out.

shortly before the rise of house
blackthorn, the vipers were just
a noble high house. no claims to
royalty whatsoever. but when
the last bellegard king failed to
produce any children—bastard
or legitimate—his advisor staged
a coup to assume power once the
king's health was failing. the king
was forced to abdicate and was
allowed to live in peace until his
death years later.
