Chapter 31: Proposal, Working

So.... after a long while I'm finally updating this one.  I'm so sorry for the wait!  Though compared to the other ones that I have, this one is practically no where near the other works I have that I haven't worked on.  And I'm so sorry for those too that I haven't updated as well.

But now a days I think that I'll have more time to actually update my other stories or at least just get some work on it.  After all all schools were closed down where I am.  The college I go to closed down about two weeks or so ago.  And I was staying at the dorms, so I left and came back home.  And all classes are online.  Some just have their assignments online, while others, like me, have the assignments online and have to have class through zoom with my other classmates.

On Monday I had my first class on zoom, and there I was drinking my cappuccino and in my pajamas.  Though thankfully that class is only for one hour and don't have it every single day.  Usually it was only on Mondays, but now since it's on zoom, it's both Mondays and Fridays.

Anyways, here is the chapter.  I'm sorry for any spelling or grammar errors, or if it just doesn't make sense or just not good at all.

"I don't think that this is a good idea. Wouldn't agreeing to this cause a drastic change for the future."

They all contemplated what had just been said by Knuckles who had a slight frown.

A few hours prior they had received a letter from the very family that they had been talking about the other day. They had received a letter from the Gennero family.

There wasn't much written, all it had was a request to meet with the boss of Vongola to discuss matters of an alliance.

And if this alliance was to head in the direction that the rumors had been of a marriage among their children, it would most likely not end in the way that one half would have expected.

"And that's why if a marriage is brought up, I will reject the offer. We will try to find another way to form an alliance, but an alliance with marriage is one that we cannot make. Of course like Knuckles has said, this could most likely cause a change for the future." Giotto sighed as he picked up his cup of coffee, which he dearly needed with the incoming headache from not sleeping well, and waking up too early.

They all silently agreed to this.

"What will you say if he asks for a reason to why you are rejecting the marriage alliance?" Lampo asked.

That they didn't know yet. Giotto couldn't exactly go and tell him the real reason. But he had to come up with a believable reason. One that can be accepted.

"If we say that they are already betrothed to another, that may be a way to reject the offer if he does indeed bring up marriage." Daemon said as he leaned back into his seat.

It was a reasonable idea, but who would be the other or others?

In the end after discussing it for some time, they came to the conclusion that Amanda Stevens would be the one they would use as a betrothed candidate. They, would have to first speak with Matthew about this sudden decision. Though that may change depending on the situation.

~Time Skip( A Few Days Later)~

A few days later, the Gennero boss was scheduled to come to the Vongola mansion and meet with Giotto and his guardians.
