It's my birthday tonight and a few friends want to take me out to New York. I'm deciding against it, I just don't think New York is really going to be a trip that's worth it. It's going to take forever to get there (we're driving), and it's just going to be a giant waste of money. Syd and Noen have been my friends for almost two years after moving to the US from Spain. I think some times they forget I exist and just take over without asking. I originally wanted something small and poised but knowing them they booked a whole damn trip.

I pick up my phone and hold in my hand, I could be doing so many other things tonight and I'm going to New York? Okay I'm done over thinking I need to text them. I open up the group chat.

I put my phone down and rub my head. Wow twenty one years old. I feel like a senior citizen soon I'm going to need a walker and one of those wheel chairs.

(**A few hours later**)

"Open up its me." I hear Syd basically scream while pounding on my door.

I get up lazily and walk to open it.

The biggest smile is on his face as he runs in holding a box. A gift to be more precise.

"Here I got you something." Syd hands me the box.

I grab it and shake it around, something slides. It's a candle. Corny but cute.

"Thanks" I say while brushing my black hair with my hand.

"I already have my stuff packed so ready when you are."

Noen rolls in 4 minutes later.

We all sit down and Noen insists on order us pizza. I tried expressing to him I wanted pepperoni when he ordered extra cheese instead. What ever floats your boat I guess.

The pizza comes not to long after and we all took a few slices. The pizza's dry and taste like the cardboard box it came in. But Noen didn't care.

"Ah we gotta leave in a bit. Are you exited?"

"I guess." Jey couldn't even believe his own words.

A few hours passed and it was time to go, or we'd get there too late.

"Toss me your bag so I can put it in the trunk" Noen yelled.

"You think I can lift this up?" I've always been super skinny I have like zero bones.

* Time jump to them in the car *
