the boys went back to the dining room, finishing up the bottle of wine. while they all stood up and made their way to the table, jin walked up to you. "so, you were close to namjoon?" he asked. you were confused as to why jin was trying to befriend you, after all, you were just their gangs hostage. you assumed you were just a pawn in their game of chess. jin seemed to take notice of the discomfort in your face, he followed up the previous question with, "i can't imagine how you feel and all, being kidnapped, but while you're here it wouldn't hurt to make a friend."

you gave that sentence thought for a moment. you couldn't explain how you felt, although fear ran through your blood while you were around these men, you felt a sense of comfort being with jin. he seemed like he had no bad intentions whatsoever.

"me and namjoon were quite close. best friends since we were babies, then one day he just disappeared." you replied to jin, leaning back on the wall.

"i see. me and namjoon were good friends back then too, well, after he disappeared from your life and before he started running away from our life." jin said, with a hint of sadness in his voice. "i guess that's why taehyung can't bare speaking to me sometimes. me and namjoon used to be inseparable. i even tried to see things in namjoon's perspective when news broke out."

you looked over to jin, seeing his eyes filled with regret and sadness, yet somehow he reflected the rest of himself as someone who's confident, and happy. while jin zoned out staring at the coffee colored couch in the living room, you couldn't help but wonder again. "what exactly was the news?"

jin met eyes with you, not knowing what to say. "i.. i assumed taehyung would've told you by now. you've been here a while, or at least i thought. as much as i want you to better understand this situation, it isn't my story to tell." jin looked away, and by the face he made, you could tell he was uncomfortable to some extent. "it's only a matter of time," jin said, looking down. "taehyung would never hurt someone like you." before you could remark, jin met with the boys at the table.

you couldn't help but wonder, "someone like me? what does that mean?" you wanted to get answers, but fear overtook when you saw jin standing with the rest of the boys. you made your way back to your room, not wanting to interrupt anything important.

"taehyung," jin called out. "y/n's a lot like her."

"maybe that's why he chooses not to hurt her." jungkook joked.

"shut up. she's nothing like her, she'll never compare." taehyung said in rebuttal, although when he came to terms with the fact, he did agree you were a lot like her.
