18. A Silent Prayer

Spirit lead me
where my trust is beyond borders
Let me walk upon the waters
In the presence of my savior
- Hillsong

There's something about the way she writes

A certain hunger sparkles in her eyes

She waits patiently for everything she longs for

But she's a wolf in disguise

She feels that need to get what she wants

The power,

 The fame,

The money

Really anything that tickles the fancy of our honey

She doesn't care about the millions of people that look up to her

The little kids who dream big inspired by this star

She's held in a great delight

A beloved girl who writes with wonderful insight

But no one knows of the skeletons she keeps in her closet

No one knows of the bodies she's piled up to get there

Yet she bargains with the devil

For every beautiful worldly thing she longs to get those lovely hands on

She wasn't always like this

Something changed,

She snapped

But in the process she becomes lost

And one itty bitty teeny part of her wants to live again

Not be controlled by things of this world

But of those of the greater beyond

She wants to be saved

But she's sold her soul to the devil

For all the worldly things

And she thinks there is no redemption

And a silent prayer passes on her behalf

"Father, don't let her go,

Don't let her see suffering that she does not know,

Father, please save her"

And despite all the evil things she's done

Someone far beyond those beautiful blue eyes

Intercedes for her

Pleading on her behalf,

That she does not fall into utter damnation.

But she doesn't understand

At least not yet,

Someday will come,

Where light would be shed

She walks around with her head held high

Queen of the north

And the northern sky

She says "I want to claim what's yours because it's rightfully mine"

But of all these possessions,

She knows she will surely die.

And Father I pray,

That you spare me from this evil,

For I don't want what is of her to be mine,

And Lord I pray that she's not me

Because she's everything I don't to be

And so Father, I pray a silent prayer

"Make me willing to be what you want me to be,

Lord, please don't let this laziness kill me,

Lord, save my soul,

Save me please,

And I pray that I become the change that you want to see"

And with little tears in these lonesome brown eyes

I whisper

"Amen"
