Whatever happened earlier was an extremely close call.

At first, [Name] wanted to mess around by teasing him with that message. Then she realized that she never really teased him in a flirtatious way, so it was out of character for her. Due to panic, she accidentally pressed send and before she knew it, she was sending text after text to take back what she said.

[Name] couldn't even begin to explain how shaken she was after the whole thing. She had to use all her energy on running to the school grounds and getting a drink so she wouldn't spend it on panicking.

However, that didn't mean that she wasn't at all conscious of how she acted towards the blond after that.

Once again, club has come to an end and now they had to pack up. She was asked to help in picking up all the used balls. As soon as [Name] was done with what she was assigned with, she headed towards the locker room to change. Kiyoko followed soon after and changed as well.

When she finally finished changing and fixing her things, she headed out and waited near the boy's locker room. She whipped out her phone and began to play a game while the boys were still changing. The voices of the team could be heard from outside which greatly contrasted the silence the school had.

The first ones to leave the room were Daichi and Koushi who headed towards the gym to make sure it was locked. It didn't take long for Kei and Tadashi to leave the room as well.

"Took you long enough, lamppost," [Name] said, still not looking up from her phone.

"I almost didn't notice you there munchkin."

The girl didn't respond anymore. She instead started to walk towards the stairs while still playing her game. Kei, who was behind her, silently observed and prepared to move quickly in case the [h/c] haired girl slipped or fell.

[Name] continued to play as they started walking towards the gym's doors where the two-third years were. Seeing how they all had a similar path to follow, the members of the team who were done changing started walking home with the trio.

[Name], who was still playing, didn't bother looking at the road they were walking on and just followed those ahead of her. Kei, who was still looking after her, glanced at her from time to time just to make sure she hadn't fallen yet. Right after she finished the level she was playing, a notification popped up on the top of her screen.

To: Munchkin
From: Tsukisaurus

Hey idiot. Watch where you're walking or you'll trip.

[Name] chuckled before quitting her game and pocketing her phone.

"I was going to put it away anyways after finishing that level."

The girl looked at the blond's phone and saw something hanging from it. She couldn't help but let out a gasp as she pointed at it, catching the attention of the third years.

"That's a really cute keychain, Tsukishima," Koushi said.

"Of course! I gave it to him." [Name] grinned, oblivious to the vice-captain who was teasing Kei with a smile.

"Don't say that as if it got its cute aspect from you."

"Of course it did! Where else would it get it?"

"If you keep on believing that, maybe it'll come true," Kei said, teasing her once more.

[Name] only pouted as a response to the blond.

'What if I keep on believing that there's a chance you could like me back. Will that come true? Aish. Probably not.'

Soon, the group started to disperse until it was only the two of them again.

The girl couldn't help but feel a lot of different emotions swirling inside her. She was nervous, giddy, shy, but most of all, she felt happy.

She lied to him. She didn't really see the keychain in her room. When her family went out that previous Saturday night, they went past a cute keychain store. It had a variety of keychain designs to choose from. It even had food keychains. Ultimately, it was down to two keychains to choose from, the strawberry shortcake or the dinosaur one. After much thinking, she decided to go for the dinosaur one instead. She realized that although the cake looked cute, it also looked delicious and seeing it might just make someone hungry whenever they catch sight of it.

Her buying the keychain was just an impulse. Then, she only had one problem left. Why was she giving him a keychain anyways?

Although it hurt her to lie to his face, she didn't really want any suspicion from him. It worked out well anyway and it wasn't really that big of a lie, so she paid no mind to it.

To clear her head from her thoughts about Kei, she stared at the night sky. She watched how the stars flickered and glowed in comparison to the moon that shone a bright yellow.

As she looked at the moon, her eyes once again drifted to Kei.

He would never know how much he made her feel. Every single thing involving him felt like she was being sent to the clouds. She was walking on the ground and yet she felt like everything was light.

He could easily put her in a daze without even trying. Whether he was snickering or just had a plain face on, he still sent her heart racing. And don't even let her get started on his voice. Nothing was unique with his voice and yet when it's him talking she can't listen to someone else.

When she figured that she had such feelings for Kei, she never expected that he would affect her this much.

At first, she just annoyed him to tease him and compete with him. But now, she really wanted to be by his side as often as she could. She wanted to fly higher and know more about him.

He wasn't what she imagined she'd like but for some reason, he made everything different. Her days were suddenly brighter and her heart was a million times lighter.

Her only wish is that when she starts falling from the clouds, she'd learn how to land on her feet without hurting too much.
