So they lost.

It wasn't really surprising at all.

The moment Kei saw that they were able to easily adapt to things and that they had a good connection with each other, he knew that Nekoma was stronger than the team he was in.

After the match, both teams started to talk with each other. One of the groups that were talking were [Name], Shoyo, and the setter from Nekoma named Kenma.

Kei wasn't really interested in talking to the other team, or even to his own team. He just wanted to rest. But, he couldn't keep his eyes away from the girl who kept on smiling towards the two she was talking to.

"Tsukki, if you keep looking, they'll know you like her," Tadashi teased.

Kei clicked his tongue and said, "Shut up, Yamaguchi."

"If you want to talk to her then approach her. You really need to talk though. I think [Name]-chan is under the impression that you like someone else and not her."

"Wait, [Name]? Since when did you call her that?"

Kei couldn't hide his surprise when he heard Tadashi call the girl he likes by her first name while he still called her by her last. Well, he called her with nicknames, but still.

"Eh? That's what you're focusing on?" Tadashi chuckled before continuing. "You'll get there soon, Tsukki."

"Don't call me that."

"Oh, the captain if Nekoma is talking to [Name]-chan."

"What?"

Kei's eyes immediately shifted to where their [h/c] haired manager stood. They were still a group of three, but now Shoyo was replaced with the Nekoma captain. [Name] had her phone out while talking to the two. It seemed like she was playing before, probably why she and the setter was talking in the first place.

Now that Tetsuro was there, [Name] seemed to be talking more. It was probably because their conversations required more eye contact than the ones she had with Kenma.

Kei was about to look away from them until he saw [Name] blush while talking to Tetsuro. To say that the blond was pissed would be an understatement.

He looked at Tetsuro and saw that the guy was pointing at [Name]'s phone. It was Kei's turn to feel flustered.

'They couldn't be talking about me, right?'

[Name] said something to Tetsuro before looking at her phone and typing something. Then suddenly, he felt a buzz from his bag. He looked for his phone and saw that he had a notification.

To: Tsukisaurus
From: Munchkin

Hey, lamppost! Look here!

And so he did. He looked at her direction before looking back at his phone and replying to her.

To: Munchkin
From: Tsukisaurus

What do you want, chibi-chan?

To: Tsukisaurus
From: Munchkin

Oh, nothing really. They said the keychain hanging from your phone is really cute, btw. Bye!!

Kei couldn't help but chuckle.

'So I was right? If I'm not mistaken, they were talking about the keychain on her phone so she wanted to show off the keychain she gave.'

She was indeed adorable. But he swore, he saw some hints of sadness on her face when he caught her looking at him.

The team finally said their goodbyes to each other and started walking home-- well, not home. They started walking back to the venue they were staying at to get any other thing that they might have left there.

Kei decided to walk beside [Name] with Tadashi by his other side. The girl, which wasn't surprising anymore, was playing while walking again.

He brought out his phone to send her a text.

To: Munchkin
From: Tsukisaurus

Stop playing while you're walking. An idiot like you is prone to tripping.

The girl looked at Kei and kept her phone, pouting.

"You look like a duck," he said, referring to her lips.

"Looking at my lips, lamppost? Oh my, I might get the wrong idea."

Kei did not expect that. Of course he was thrown off! It was the one he liked who said that. He wasn't really looking at her lips. Well, he was. But not because of the reasons she was implying!

"As if I'd want anything to do with your lips other than make it shut up."

"Oh? And how do you intend to do that?"

Kei couldn't handle her. Not one bit. Her insults weren't really insults anymore. They were flirty comebacks and they did wonders to his heart. If she wanted to play that way, then so be it.

"However you want, munchkin."

The girl had a pink tint on her cheeks while Kei's ears started to take on a reddish hue. The two were upping their game and their team couldn't help but watch the both of them. Luckily, the trio was the one in front of the team, just behind their coach and teacher.

Tadashi, who couldn't escape from the two, could only walk beside them silently as he listened to them answer each other.

"Well, I don't think you can do it the way I want it, Tsukishima-kun," [Name] said, letting the last letter drag on a little bit, causing a soft click from her tongue.

Kei had to admit, hearing his name come from her sent his heart racing.

"Oh? Why don't we try then, [Surname]-chan?"

The two stopped walking and smirked at each other as if they were taunting the other.

"Get a room!" Yu shouted from the back, causing the whole team to laugh.

Kei flinched at what his senior had said and looked away immediately from the girl.

[Name], on the other hand, as a response, redirected their attention and pointed at the setting sun while exclaiming that it was extremely pretty.

The team then agreed to stop for a moment and sit by the hill while the sun was setting. Kei, who suddenly remembered something, approached Tadashi. Before speaking, Kei had made sure that they were far enough from the team to not hear their conversation.

"Yamaguchi," Kei said.

"What is it Tsukki?"

"What did you mean when you said that she might be under the impression I like someone else? I mean, why would she care?"

"Tsukki, I think that's something that you should ask her herself."

"I'm just curious. It's not like she feels the same way, right?"

"You'd never know until you ask, Tsukki."

That's the thing though. Is he ready to ask her?
