"It's nothing great, just something we did together without anyone else knowing. . . No! Not like that! It was just sort of like our little secret. Oh shuck, that doesn't sound any better. Um, let's just say we did something on one of the walls," Minho nodded, thinking over it to make sure it was right. I'd give him a minute or two. . . "Oh for god's sake! I didn't mean it like that."

I couldn't help but softly chuckle at him blabbering as we walked along the side of the Glade, towards a row of trees that seemed somewhat seperate to the rest.

Cutting him off and actually talking was an option. Or I could just keep letting him embarrass himself.

After a second thought, I chose the latter.

"It is on the wall though. But like I said, it's nothing great. Well, it is to me because I remember it. Wait, I didn't mean that! I'm so sorry. I didn't think." His hand raised to his head as he shook it, "Yeah, I'm gonna shut up now."

"Please don't." I couldn't help but laugh again when I saw that his face was glowing red.

"I've embarrassed myself enough." He smiled, stopping by one of the trees, "Besides, we're here now."

From where we were stood, you couldn't see much of the Glade anymore, yet we were only on the edge of it, surrounded by a small amount of trees. The silence of it was almost deafening.

Minho sat down next to the bark that was leaning against the wall before nodding his head towards the other tree for me to take a seat beside it so we were facing each other.

"I can't remember how you even found this place. I think it's where you wrote in your diary. I just kinda followed you here and we just became friends from there. I wouldn't exactly speak to you at first," he chuckled, looking down at his hands that were resting on his lap.

"What do you mean?" I crossed my legs, attempting to get comfortable on the roots of the tree.

"What do you mean, 'what do you mean?'" The corners of his lips twisted into a smile as he folded his arms.

"Why wouldn't you speak to me?"

His head tilted to the side whilst he thought about what to say, "It wasn't just you, it was everyone really. I just felt the urge to not go up to anyone, it's just that I felt that towards you more than everyone else. You'd be surprised how scared people were of you when they came in."

"I was scaring people?" For some strange reason, I began to laugh. It led to me having to cover my mouth so that I wasn't being too loud.

"Well yeah, you were the only girl here so no one knew how to act around you. I just kinda walked around until I saw you down here." Minho shrugged, still smiling.

It grew quiet, only the distant sound of branches hitting other branches was heard.

I couldn't exactly tell whether it was warm or not. There were occasionally gusts of wind; cold but not often enough to call it windy.

"What's that on the wall?" I asked, pointing to some marks made most likely with a knife. It was a grid, three by three, with random O's and X's in each square.

When I pulled back some of the ivy attached to the wall there were multiple grids, all containing the same thing.

"That's what I wanted to show you. It's a game that some genius shank made up." Minho flipped his none-existent hair before sticking his chest out and putting his hands on his hips. I just squinted at him, leaning my head on my hand as I watched the strange boy. "It was me."

"Oh! I get it." I began tapping my knee in some sort of rhythm, "Just please don't do that ever again."

"I'm making myself look like a complete shank aren't I?"

"I've met worse." I all but grinned, referring to Alec.

"There's a new greenie coming tomorrow," Minho sighed, running his hand through his surprisingly perfectly shaped hair.

"First of all, how random? And second, why is that such a bad thing?" I asked, pulling some of the grass from the floor.

I wonder what it's like being around when there's a greenie. Maybe someone's job is to make sure they're alright?

"Well, there's always a massive drama about which job they'll get; people complain about whether they can trust them or not; they are sometimes complete tools; if they bec-"

"Alright alright, I get it, you hate greenies." I raised my eyebrows, holding back a humorous smile, "Did you know, that you were a Greenie once?"

"Well duh. But I was incredibly good-looking so no one really cared about what I did."

"Oh wow. Is your head really that big?"

"Yeah it is actually." He flashed a toothy smile as I chuckled to myself.

As soon as it turned silent again I found my gaze fixed on one of the grids carved into the wall. Some of them had random lines through them, but one of them didn't.

"Is this one not finished?" I asked, sliding a finger along the dents.

Minho looked over it, gently shaking his head, "Started it ages ago but forgot to finish it."

"I would do it but I kinda don't know how to. Plus, you'll be better than me and I want to win," I sighed, letting go of the ivy.

"A little healthy competition never hurt anyone."

"It'll hurt your ego."

"Oh and now who's got the big head?"

"Still you," I sung.

The boy let out a huff of annoyance, looking skeptically at me.

I raised both my shoulders before letting them drop again whilst Minho carried on staring at me.

"Can you not? That's really creepy." I furrowed my eyebrows as a small smirk crept onto his lips, "Dude, I will scream."

"I challenge you to a race!" Minho suddenly shouted, making me jolt.

"Holy sh- was there any need?" I winced, covering both of my ears.

"Do you accept?" He continued to shout.

"But, effort," I sighed, wiggling my toes in my shoes, "Besides you're a Runner, you're obviously gonna win."

"Do you accept?" He repeated, thankfully a little quieter, "You don't have a choice anyway."

I let out a groan, watching Minho stand up and walk over to me with his hand extended.

There was something about how cocky he was being that made me want to win him even more. There was a slight sparkle in his eye at the oportunity to embarrass me and prove me wrong.

"Oh, you're on Minnie."
