Apollo's POV

I woke covered in goo and with aloe spikes (yet again) in my nostrils.

On the bright side, my ribs no longer felt like they were filled with lava. My chest had healed, leaving only a puckered scar where I'd impaled myself. I'd never had a scar before. I wished I could see it as a badge of honour. Instead, I feared that now, whenever I looked down, I would remember the worst night of my life. Well, except for that little moment I had with Aria.

It made me confused. Did I like her? Why would I like her now, after being with her for literally three thousand years?

I thought of her smile. The way it can brighten up a room with one dazzling flash of happiness. They way her eyes sparkled all the time. Her happy-go-lucky personality that made her literally skip to places. Her style had changed from dresses to a long hoodie and shorts. I couldn't help but blush whenever I looked at her.

(If you want to picture Aria better, then that's what her hair is like, but black. And her eyes as so super dark brown they're literally black.)

Of course, she's the most adorable person I've ever laid eyes upon, but the last time I checked, thinking that you're best friend is super pretty doesn't mean you have a crush on them. Right?

I dressed in all white and got ready for the day thinking entirely about her. (Which is unhealthy by the way, she's hard to get your mind off of. Well, mine anyways.)

Finally, I climbed into the oppressive Palm Springs heat. I approached and heard voices in earnest conversation: Meg and Joshua.

They were talking about climates and growing seasons. Ugh. I stepped into view and found them studying a line of seven young saplings that had sprouted from the rocky soil ... in the exact spots where Meg had planted her seeds only yesterday.
