Rey stood in the middle of the hangar as she watched Kylo Ren's ship break through the barrier. Every hair on her body pulled away from her as a deep-rooted fear crept in. As with every time she's around Ren, a boiling hatred swept through her, warning her of his presence.

The sound of dozens of footsteps came from every side of her as Storm Troopers closed off every exit.

Rey let out slow, heavy breaths through her mouth as Ren unloaded from his fighter. He was cladded in all black save for the red cracks in his mask. He stalked towards her with purpose, a confidence that only came with knowing she had nowhere else to go.

When he closed in on her, she slowly started to side step to keep a wide gap between them.

Ren followed her moves, side stepping until they switched sides- her by the barrier while he had the army flanking him.

With the vast emptiness of space to her back and the threat of the First Order ahead, she spoke. "Why did the Emperor come for me?" Her voice shook with question. "Why did he want to murder a child? Tell me." She insisted.

"Because he saw what you would become." Ren told her of her prophecy, of what he thought was set in stone. "You don't just have power. You have his power." He stressed. "You're his granddaughter." He paused as he watched the shock widen her eyes. Her bottom lip began to tremble at the truth. "You... are a Palpatine."

Tears filled her eyes as she took an unsure step back. The truth, quite literally, knocked her back.

Kylo Ren took a self-assured step her way. "My mother was the daughter of Vader, your father was the son of the Emperor, Aria's mother was the daughter of Dooku." For every step Ren took towards her, she stepped back. "What Palpatine doesn't know is that this has been generations in the making. Do you think it was a coincidence for my sister to be the descendant of a powerful Sith? For her to find you on Jakku? A scavenger?" Rey stepped back onto the bright blue light dividing the hangar from the galaxy. "Your mind intertwines with me. Your soul... with Aria's. All of us together... three descendants of powerful Siths... we can be one."

Rey's heel faltered over the edge of the hangar. As she wobbled she turned to look over the edge. The lights of Kijimi sparkled thousands of feet below her, making the streets she had just run through resemble mere wrinkles.

She looked back at Ren with a true terror in her eyes.
"We'll kill him together, and take the throne." He reached up and slowly pulled his mask off to reveal the same, scarred face she thought she knew. He tucked it under her right arm and looked at her with glistening, determined eyes. "If you join me Aria will surely follow. You know what you need to do." He told her. "You know," he whispered. Then he slowly lifted his left, gloved hand out towards her.

Rey looked down at his gloved hands. It was relaxed, with the fingers slightly curved to fit the contour of her palm. She looked away from it back to his face. There was a confidence in his eyes that made her unsure. He was so sure she'd join him that it made her doubt herself.

But, then a strong gust of wind spread over her. It smelled of mint and cooled the heat across her cheeks- Aria. Aria's presence was so strong it drove out all of the fear in Rey and replaced it with a searing faith in her- in Aria- in them.

The tremor in her bottom lip stopped as her brows furrowed into a straight line. "I do," she decided just as the Falcon rose to the hangar.

Rey turned back to stare into the bright light of the Falcon's tale end. The thrusters kicked up, sending a wave of heat back through the hangar. Rey position just under the Falcon saved her from falling back, but the same couldn't be said for the fleet of Storm Troopers behind Ren. The wave threw them back, but Ren dug his heels into the ground and leaned forward into the wave to keep himself upright.

The ramp of the Falcon lowered to show Aria clinging to one of its poles. Her hand was extended out towards Rey.

"Rey!" She screamed towards her friend. "Come on!"

Rey looked back at Ren to see he was looking at his sister with a stunned disbelief. His moment of weakness gave Rey the time she needed to sprint along the hangar barrier to meet up with the Falcon.

"Jump!" Aria yelled for her.

Rey listened instinctively and jumped through the barrier, into the black, void of space. Just as she felt the weightlessness grab onto her, Aria's hand laced around her's and pulled her onto the ramp.

"I got you," Aria whispered as she clung to her.

"POE, GO!" Finn yelled to the cockpit as he started to lift the hangar.

Rey and Aria looked back to Ren as they held one another. Without the shock of the Falcon, he walked up to the barrier and watched as they once again left him.

A.N.// OKAY! So Aria's ancestry is brought to light! I'm not going to lie to you guys, I had a COMPLETELY different ancestry for her up until the previous chapter, then I got this brilliant and mad idea to have Aria come from a Sith as well to kind of complete the trifecta. It just further explained Aria and Rey's connection and why Ren is so hellbent on getting both of them to join him. So... what do you think? Who did you imagine Aria's grandparents to be?
