chapter 2

I jolted up from a very terrible nightmare.
My head was throbbing and very heavy. .

"Naledi ,you awake?" I heard Aisha's sweet voice say. .

"Ahh my ribs" I groaned in pain.

"Shush dont make any noise mom and dad will hear you"

It took me some time to take in my surroundings when I realised I was in Aisha s bedroom , sleeping on a very comfortable bed.

"'What am I doing here .? You know
Aunt Pamela forbid me from getting in your rooms unless i need to clean them"..

"Your talking is not going to help mee now shush, they will hear you".

"What am I doing here?"..
I asked again

"I saw what brother did to you and I decided to help you..I couldn't interfere am very sorry".

"thanks , its okay "

"How are you feeling now?".she asked

"I think i have a few broken ribs buh i will be okay"

"I saw that coming" she sighed.
"I rubbed same ointment on them.you will be fine in a couple of weeks if the beatings continues even months,
You really need to go to the hospital Naledi , your body has alot of wounds and they need to be checked out or you wont get any better".
She said her voices laised with concernt.

I decided to change the subject
But I was grateful that she cared.
I cleared my throat

"What time is it?"
"Its a little after three".she said

"Please do wake me up around five, I wouldn't what you to get into trouble because you helped me".

"Naledi" I felt a small pat on my shoulder.
"Wake up now"
I opened my eyes and saw Aisha standing besides me
I rubbed my eyes "what time is it"

"Around six , I decided to give you a little more time to rest, and mom will be waking up soon"she said

"Thanks , for everything I"
"Dont mention it, after all we are family" Aisha said
I felt welcomed for the first time in five years.

I walked towards the door
"I better get going now , wouldn't want any trouble" and I quickly left her room.

On my way to my room, aunt Pamela opened her door and I froze in my tracks.
"Eh tell me what are you doing this early? Are you now a witch like your mother " and she started laughing. .
"Um talking to you, are you now deaf"
I was about to answer when Aisha interrupted
"Morning mommy "she said to aunt Pamela
"Morning darling" and I just stood there i didn't know what to do

"What are you still doing here Naledi , I thought I told you that my clothes needed a wash " Aisha said
I looked at her confused
And she winked at me

" I Will go and start washing them  now"
And with that I took my leave

.......

"Naledi leave my kitchen , today I will prepare supper "said aunt Pamela
I quickly left the kitchen i didn't want any arguments today

The day went by pretty fast
And I thought today would be better
When a drunk Peter walked into the house..

"Naledi" aunt Pamela called
"Prepare the table really quick and serve supper we wouldn't want to piss of Peter "

I started doing the dishes as usual as they ate their supper.
"What the fuck is this"I heard my uncle growl as he banged the table in anger.....ohh Jesus here we go again.
