The hot sun slammed into my skin the minute I left the jet we'd arrived in.

Colour me surprised when Demetri dropped me off on an airfield in front of a small, but private jet and 3 other cloaked figures.

Their red eyes pierced my soul as they stared unblinking.

I was very rarely self conscious, but my face grew hot as they simply stared.

"Are you going to stare all day, or are we going to leave before I change my mind?" I asked, waving towards the jet.

Fear rocketed through me at my brazen statement, so potent I'm sure they could taste it.

The girl that stood in front of me smiled slightly, almost mockingly.

"Master Caius will be pleased." She spoke to Demetri though her eyes remained on me.

They walked onto the jet and with a gentle push from Demetri, I followed.

I'd been to Italy before, but last time I wasn't as cautious about my surroundings.

"I'll carry you from here, otherwise those that dwell in the town may see something they shouldn't." Demetri grinned.

I remained stone-faced as I stood waiting for him to pick me up.

The town passed by in a blur of colour and by the time I was placed down, I felt nauseous.

Demetri was the only one with me, the other 3 guards were nowhere to be found.

"They went ahead to report to master Aro about the situation in Seattle." He told me, beginning to walk me down a long, dimly lit corridor.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked, nervous but refusing to show it.

"Master Caius gave me strict instructions to bring you to his chambers as soon as you arrived."

I stopped, causing him to stop also. "Why?" I demanded to know.

"When Alice first informed the masters of your existence, we were informed that you'd been attacked by another vampire and were scared. Master Caius ordered me to take you straight to his chambers as our castle is usually crawling with our kind."

My mind began to race, that was... disturbingly considerate.

Demetri chuckled, catching my look of confusion.

"Despite what the Cullen's may have led you to believe, red eyed vampires can be considerate."

I shook my head as we turned a corner into another long hallway.

"My bad opinion comes from being thrown around by countless red eyed vampires, maybe you noticed that when you broke in to my house and practically kidnapped me."

"You agreed." He pointed out, stopping in front of a large wooden door. "You can go in, no one other than Master Caius is allowed in without his express permission. You'll be unbothered until he joins you."

I took a deep breath, placing my hand on the cold metal doorknob. I opened the door, which led into a large circular room. There were 4 other doors branching out into different areas.

The room itself gave off a common room vibe, there were stacks upon stacks of bookshelves, places to sit and a cozy fireplace that didn't look like it had been used in some time.

The door closing behind me scared me from my thoughts and I whirled around, heart racing, only to realise that Demetri had left me to myself.

I took a moment, taking in my surroundings and listening for anything, footsteps, conversation, movement. Nothing, quieter than a grave. The thought itself made me shiver.
