Paris

"Ven," I called the moment I barged into her room. She was taking her precious time doing her makeup. Napabuntong hininga ako.

"We need to go," Thirty minutes na lang kasi ay magsisimula na ang laro ng Wolves. The bleachers would be packed, for sure. Ayokong mahirapan kami sa paghahanap ng upuan.

She turned to me. "Geez, calm down," giit niya. "Don't stress.

Between me and Venny, Venny's definitely the girly one.

"So, hindi ka na talaga pupunta sa game nina King?" she asked without looking at me. She was so busy applying her mascara.

Yeah. I'd made up my mind. Medyo nakakapanlumo pa rin naman na hindi ako makakapanood sa last game ni King but, what can I do? I didn't want to be untrue to my words. Besides, I knew how much this meant to him. For some reason, I didn't want to disappoint Ezzio.

Instead of giving an answer, I decided to ignore what she said. "Bilisan mo na lang d'yan. Maghihintay ako sa baba."

I guess she noticed the slight change of the tone of my voice because before I closed the door, I caught her look my way.

It took 5 more minutes for Venny to show up in the living room. She wore a black spaghetti strap top tucked in her denim jeans. On the other hand, I wore an off-shoulder top with faded jeans. I let down my hair like the usual. A silver necklace hung on my neck.

Hindi na kami nagtagal. Dumiretso na agad kami sa campus. When we arrived, I saw a lot of unfamiliar faces. Siguradong galing sila sa ibang school. The entrance of LMU swarmed with people but the football area was a different story. Mas maraming tao ang naroon. It was only near 5pm but the floodlights were already on. I could hear the LMU students chanting along with the marching band's drums. Everything going on in the whole place was very enlivening.

May lips parted as I met their lingering eyes.

"OMG! Hi, Sam!" my sister exclaimed before giving Sam a hug. I wasn't surprised they knew each other. Venny had always been a social butterfly. A lot of people say Venny and I are the exact opposite.

"I love your eyeshadow," Venny complimented. Sam did the same.

"As always, I'm still envious of your natural waves," she replied, touching some strands of Venny's wavy hair.

Do they really talk to each other like that?

She gave me a smile. Ikinagulat ko 'yon.

"Paris," she greeted. Ginantihan ko siya ng ngiti. I murmured a short "Hello".

"Do you know why we're waiting for you?" tanong noong isang babae. Nalito ako sa sinabi niya. Bakit naman nila ako hinihintay?
