Chapter 7

It was four in the morning on Saturday but Kao already wake up while Fong was still sleeping. Kao walked out from the bedroom quietly, all the way to the kitchen downstairs so he wouldn't wake anyone. He saw Jane, the housemaid already cleaning the house early in the morning.

"Young master Kao, good morning. Can I help you?" She greeted Kao with a wide smile while bowing her head.

"Aunty Jane, please stop calling me young master..." Kao couldn't get used to the staff in the house who keep calling him young master just like the way they called Fong. "I want to make sandwich for later."

"I can make them, you don't have to do it."

"Don't worry aunty, I'll make it myself. You can keep doing your job." Kao said so Jane won't bothered him. As he wished for, Jane keep cleaning the house and let Kao do his work.

Kao took a loaf of bread from the cabinet then proceed to the fridge. He open it and scanned the inside for few seconds. He took out smoke beef, canned tuna, cheese, eggs, bacon, tomatoes, and lettuce.

After a year working as a kitchen hand in S Cafe, Kao picked up a few cooking skills from the owner. But today he was preparing simple dishes for him and the others.

Kao put the pan on the stove and a bit of oil in it, turned it on with low heat. He crack the eggs into the bowl, put some salt and then whipped it. When the pan was hot enough, Kao pour the egg into the pan and quickly two slices of bread on top of the egg. After a while he flipped the egg and put in slice of tomatoe, lettuce, cheese, and bacon, the he fold it and put the food in the container. Then he did the same thing again but with different topping. When he was working on the last piece of sandwich, Tay walked in.

"Cooking?"

"Why are you up this early, P?" Kao look at the handsome man who just woke up. His hair was messed up and eyes still half close, the same as Kao except for the eyes part. "I'm making sandwiches for us on the road."

"I smell food." Tay answered briefly then sat at the counter. "Aren't you sleepy?"

"I could sleep on the way." Kao said with evil face.

"You can't." Tay immediately replied. "You have to be awake, accompany me."

Kao was surprised at how childish Tay act, even when he was few years older than Kao. He leaned forward and just answer with one word while smiling.

"Yes."

That answer apparently was enough to gave a little smile on Tay's lips. Kao was trying to tease Tay, but he knew he lose when he saw the other man's smile make him blush.

"I'm going to take shower first." Tay said as he left the kitchen. Kao was glad the source of his nervousness was gone so he could finish his food.

Kao was making sure that it was enough for everyone. He packed it neatly and put it on the table, then went upstair to shower.

He entered Fong's room to see no one inside, but stream of water could be heard from the bathroom. Fong must be taking a shower, Kao thought. He opened small wardrobe in the corner of the room where some of his clothes still there ever since he move out. He took a few clothes and put it in a bag, then he took one more pair and put in on the chair.

Kao sat on the edge of the bed when he was sure his stuff was ready. He took out his phone and play around with it while waiting for Fong to finish. His phone was still full of notifications from the video, but it was less than before. Before he could take a peek, Fong walked out from the bathroom fully clothes.

"You're done? I thought it will take longer for you and P'Tay to do it. Where did you do it anyway?"

Kao was confused as he didn't understand what Fong mean at first. But when reality hits, Kao felt the heat to his face. He took a pillow and throw it forcefully at Fong's head.
