"You alright?" Fong asked Kao who sat beside him in class. "You... Seem distant since the beach vacation. Does anything happened between you and P'Tay?"

"No..." Kao replied in hurry. "I'm just... Tired..."

Fong stared at Kao for few seconds, then he nod and decide to let it go. Kao was glad that his friend was understanding, but then he frowned again as he remember his call with Siri two days ago.

-----------------

"What do you want?"

"Kao, why are you so rude to your mother? Don't you miss me?"

"..." Kao didn't want to answer anything as his anger keep rising.

"Such a bad child. Do you want to be punished? We have those, you know."

Kao almost lost his grip on the phone. He could guess what his former mother meant, but he didn't expect her to bring it up.

"Wh... What do you mean?"

"A little kid hide it under the old tree at the backyard, and he think we wouldn't find it. How naive..."

What Kao fear the most came true as he heard that sentence. He almost lost control but the he clenched his fist at the balcony and tried his best to stay calm.

"What do you want?" Kao asked the same question again.

"Alright. I'll let you know later the meeting place. And don't try to run away, if you don't want to lose 'it'."

Kao ended the call. He was about to raise his hand and threw his phone when he heard the bathroom door open. He saw Tay staring at him in confusion.

"Everything okay?"

"... All good, P."

--------------------------------------

Kao didn't get the text until now, and it was making him more anxious every day. He checked on every new message that just come in. Mostly was from Tay, asking what he was doing. He would be happy if it was a normal day like every other day, but now Kao have to accept that he will confront his past for the last time before he can be truly free from people he called his parents before.

And then it came.

A text message from a woman he used to call mother, but now he is disgusted to call her so.

Siri : Meet me at Moi Cafe at 15.00

Kao knew where that place was, it was not too far from his dorm. What he didn't know was how this woman knew where he live, or his number. Kao look at the time and it was almost two. He had another class after this, but he couldn't care less about it.

After the lecturer dismissed his class, Fong was ready to go to next class. He was about to call Kao, but his friend were already out from the room. Fong could only stare in confusion to see his friend unusual behaviour.

Kao walked quickly to his destination. It only took him few minutes by foot to get there, and it was still too early for the appointment. The boys in uniform ordered a coffee, a drink that he rarely had. Usually it helped him to reduce his anxiety, but it was not working today.

It was almost three when Kao look at the clock and then the awaited person come. Kao didn't even bother to greet her as she walked directly to Kao.

"Long time no see, Kao. How are you?" The woman took off her sunglasses and sat on the opposite side. She reached out her hand but Kao refused to shake it, making the woman retract her arm. "Why are you so hostile to your mother? Did you forget that we took care of you?"
