"No, don't put that one there. Fix it with this on-"
"Brother Gillis!"
"Brother Gillis!"
"Brother Gillis!" Henrita shouted as she ran into the backyard, her left hand on her head to hold her wig in place and the other holding her phone tightly. Gillis, Clifford and Terence all turned sharply at the sound of her voice. They stopping fixing the pieces of furniture and stared at Henrita worriedly as she ran towards them.
"Brother Giliis!" She shouted.
"Tah!" Terrence said clapping his hands in her face causing her to halt, "Village girl, why are you shouting like he's on another planet? Can't you call someone without shouting?"
"Abeg shift jhoor, let me see human being," Henrita said pushing him and walking up to Gillis. She pulled her black skirt down as it had rolled up a bit while she was running and she straightened the ruffled neck of her pink blouse before saying, "Brother Gillis, Guess what?"
Gillis used his thumb to wipe sweat away from his brows before saying, "What?"
She clapped her hands and began, "So yesterday, I was talking to my friends and we were gisting and chatting and-"
"For god sake!" Terrence groaned where he stood, "who cares about you and your friends?"
"Ehhhh!" She raised her hand turning to face him, "Breastie Ola, I did not call your name here oh, so mind your business. Just mind your business," she hissed, "see how everybody's abs is just showing off anyhow in their singlets, you your own is not abs is breast and potbelly that you're showing," she rolled her eyes and clicked her tongue.
"That's enough," Gillis said firmly, "I've told you that I don't like when you two argue at the workplace. It's funny for us but if someone comes in here, he or she can misread your actions for actual animosity and chase away the clients that we so desperately need."
"Sorry," they both chorused but not without giving each other menacing looks.
"It's okay," Gillis smiled then said, "What did you want to tell me?" Gillis asked.
"Yeah," she grinned, "so I was chatting with my friend yesterday and while we were discussing I brought up the new furniture designs and she was psyched! She loves it and even wants to order it."
"For real?""Ahh!" She exclaimed, "This is not just any ordinary friend oh, it is Susanna Oma! If she says she wants to pay, it is done in seconds," she snapped her fingers, "The girl is stupidly rich!" She said laying emphasizing on the word; stupidly.
"Anyway!" She cleared her throat for effect, "so, I was still chatting her up about it when she sent the news to her group of friends in their private group oh! Like her main group of friends, all those Abuja and Lekki based people and just like that!" She laughed, "Just like that brother Gillis, we have over 200 people already waiting for the chair oh!"
"It's a lie!" Clifford said, "you're just pulling our legs, aren't you?"
"Me?" She slapped her chest, "See nah!" She pulled her phone into view and opened her What's App chats revealing over 100+ unread messages each requesting for the chairs.
