Chapter 44: Who Am I?

Synapse (3rd Person Pov)

There was nothing but the pink feathers of Ikaros, on the ground was Y/n on his knees for the first time in years he was crying, for the first time he felt completely useless like he had failed, there was nothing to cheer him up, the only reminder of his friends was Excalibur from Artoria, he saw one of the feathers in front of him glowing, crawling towards it he outstretched a shaky hand and picked it up, the feather glowed and turned into a pink ball.

Y/n looked at it then placed it under his belt and wrapped his tail around his waist to keep it enclosed there, after that he just stayed in his spot not moving at all, he felt there was nothing he could do 

???: Is this how you'll let it end, with Togara being the one who wins

Turning around slowly he was met by Yamoshi who stood over him

Y/n: What's the point, I couldn't save my friends, I can't save Remnant, it's over he's achieved his goal, I'm not the hero everyone believed I was

Yamoshi: You were never a hero

Y/n: I've realised that now

Yamoshi: Your something greater than a hero

Y/n: What could that be?

Yamoshi: That is what you need to find out, but look around you... do you think your friends would want this? For destruction of their world, for Togara to rule

Y/n: No... they wouldn't

Yamoshi: Your the only one who can defeat him Y/n... stand up... you may not have been able to save Remnant and your friends but you can be damn sure to avenge them

Yamoshi disappears leaving Y/n in his thought, he looks at the ball from Ikaros's feather and stands up on his feet

Y/n: He's right... I couldn't save my friends or Remnant but that doesn't mean I can't avenge them

A portal opens up next to him and outcomes Artoria's Excalibur, he grabs hold of it and turns to see Synapse filled with dark looking creatures

Theme: Dauntless- Audiomachine

A three headed dog that was 10x the size of Y/n landed next to him, Y/n turned to face it and recognised it as Cerberus it roared at him and slowly approached him, Y/n closed his eyes and saw an image of Artoria staring at him

Artoria: So what will you do now? Will you fight to the end or will you let yourself die?

Y/n: I... I fight

Artoria smiles and Y/n opens his eyes, glaring at Cerberus he dashes forward with the dog doing the same, it opens one of it's mouths and breathes fire at him, Y/n spins to the side and jumps high up, using Excalibur he slices one of it's heads off then throws a ki orb blowing it's neck off

The other two heads roar in pain and try to claw Y/n who in turn raises Excalibur and blocks it's claw from making contact with him

I've always been the one to show up when the moment was right

He dodged another wave of fire and jumped onto a large pillar to gain higher ground than Cerberus, he then blasts off and cuts the head on the far left off at such speed Cerberus didn't register any movement 

Cerberus roared and frantically looked around for Y/n, it then felt movement behind it and before it knew it, one of it's legs had been slashed and cut in half.
