The Battle

Draco's pov

I woke with my arm around Hermione and she was hugging it, I tried to pull my hand away without waking her but she she started to move and her grip tightened around my arm

"Granger you can let go" I said quietly, her eyes shot open and she let go
"I'm so sorry" she said getting out of bed "We better get into the bathroom before your father gets up" she said smiling and walking into the bathroom.

While she was in the bathroom I looked around her room. I watched all the moving photos including the one of us and Teddy, why can't it still be that moment now, yh we were hurt badly but we were happy. I didn't realise Hermione come out the bathroom but she came and stod next to me
"I like that one too" she smiled "Hopefully once this is all over we can have Teddy more often and take more photographs like that"

"Mmm" I said and turned to walk into the bathroom

Hermione's pov

We stayed in our common room with Lucius and the others till 7 when we all walked down to the great hall where everyone was waiting. I told Harry, Draco and the others to stay in the great hall and make sure veryone was ready while I toke the others down to the dungeons into there places, I made sure they were all hidden in curtains and holes in the wall

"Now don't forget be quiet, they are due to arrive at 8, good luck we will meet in the great hall after"

After the dungeons I ran up to the owlery to make sure Luna was okay and went back to the great hall. Sitting on the tables were Harry, Ginny, Neville and a few other members of dumbledores army while the rest were hidden ready to attack including Ron, Lucius and the other Ex-Deatheaters. I looked at Draco who was shaking like mad, I looked at my watch 7:49, I grabbed Draco's hand and pulled him out of the great hall by the main doors

"Are you ready" I asked, he only nodded his head, I grabbed his hands
"Remember your promise"

"Of course I do" I kissed him on the cheek "Good Luck" he lightly smiled at me and I ran back to the great hall and hid behind the curtain.

12 minutes had passed and there was nothing I started to worry about Draco then I heard a scream and everything was a blur, I ran from outside of the curtain and started to send Hexes at the deatheaters, to my right in the corner was Lucius, to my left was Ron. Out of the corner of my eye I could see a deatheater slyly walk over to Lucius and raise his wand, I threw a hex at the deatheater in front of me which knocked them backwards and I ran in front of Lucius blocking him in the corner with my hands either side of him as the deatheater shouted "Stupefy" it hit my back and I screamed out in pain
"Hermione what are you doing move"

"I'm sorry Lucius ahhhh but I cant" I shouted as hexes hit my back
"Why not"

"Draco...I promised him everything ahhh would be okay, everything will be okay after and that won't happen ahhhh unless your alive" Tears sliding down my cheek I heard the deatheater behind me shout "Advada-" Lucius pushed me to the floor "Kadavra" Lucius flew back

"NOOOO" I screamed, all around me bright lights from the aurors flew everywhere but I was focused on one thing, I crawled over to Lucius shouting Draco's name "DRACO DRACO" I put my ear to heart.. no beating. Draco came over and crouched the other side of his father, tears pouring down his face
"You...You promised me" he said shaking his father to try and wake him up

"I'm sorry, I tried Draco, I tried to save him but he pushed me and if I could go back in time I..I"
"You'd what huh.. well you can't"

I got up of my feet and grabbed Draco's handand pulled him out of the great hall, ignoring everything going on and the ringimg in my ears.
