The year is 1919 and the story starts with an upper class girl on the run who arrives in the dirty town of Small Heath, Birmingham England.
Charlotte Rose Moore leaves her lavish lifestyle in America with one too many ghost in the closet for the shit and smoke infested town across the sea. Charlotte arrives unannounced on her aunt and cousins doorstep with all her belongings packed in two suitcases asking for a place to stay till she gets on her feet again.
The question is why? Why of all places is she here in the shithole that is Small Heath? Why did she leave her seemingly lavish lifestyle back in America?
