Shellington stared in shock

   Me? The next... ocean watcher..?

As he stared back at the photo when suddenly he saw something orange in the corner of his eye

He instantly smiled as he spotted the octo pod untill sharks swam in front of him blocking his home

"Look.. i can't be ocean. Watcher? Yea ocean watcher Im not skilled enough nor smart or strong im just a marine biologist now I have to get back home."

As he handed back the photo and began to swim away

One shark swam in his way

"Not another step" the shark spoke

   "Please they're worried-"

"No they're not. They don't care about you anymore, we've stalked this so called octonauts and saw how they've always excluded and looked down on you."

Shellington stared at him, he didn't try to fight anymore they were right, he was no acception to his team, why did they even hire him if he was useless?

He shot his eyes back up

"But.. I can't just leave them im an octonaut. Just like them-"

The shark immediately growlled at him to shut up making him squeal

"Your NOTHING like them! You can be more than they'll ever be."

As the shark swam around him and the heard of sharks began ro circle him

Its time you learned a lesson
its time that you understand
don't ever count on anybody else,
in this or any other land

The first shark sang and suddenly the mysterious guy appeared in front of him taking off his helmet revealing that he was a polar bear with a winter hat and glasses and he began to sing

I once hoped for friendship
To find a place among my kind
But those were the childish wishes
Of someone who was blind

The polar bear sang sadly and the shark sang again

Open up your eyes

See the world from where I stand
Me among the mighty
You caged at my command
Open up your eyes

A sudden shark swam in shellingtons face and sang roughly at him

Give up your sweet fantasyland
It's time to grow up and get wise
Come now little one
Open up your eyes

The shark signalled him to follow the shark to the octapod and he grabbed onto his fin curious to see how his crew was holding up

We all start out the same
With simple naïve trust
Shielded from the many ways
That life's not fair or just

Those words made him remember of how poorly he was treated weeks before he was attacked

But then there comes a moment
A simple truth that you must face

As he remembered a strange creature swimming around him

If you depend on others
You'll never find your place

He shook his head not wanting to remember what happened he popped his head up and low enough to make sure they didn't see him, looking around the main room and saw the captain and everyone else except him talking amongst each other. They were laughing they didn't seem upset that he wasn't with them anymore.

He sighed in sadness and realization turning around making eye contact with the polar bear as he offered his hand

He accepted his offer and began to swim somewhere

And as you take that first step
Upon a path that's all your own

The polar bear sang softly as they walked upon some coral making shellington feel uneasy about his new path

You see it all so clearly

The polar bear sang as he pushed shellington and he ran to the top of the coral reef

The best way to survive is all alone
