Shellington opened his eyes and sat up and hissed at his side
He stared at himself, bandages an oxygen mask, stitches and felt bandages around his head
He was back at the octopod
"Why must I always end up here.."
As he hopped off his bed feeling the cold pinch through his feet limping his way out of the sick bay, almost falling over due to his lack of sleep and rest
He was on his way to the launch bay and escape when all of a sudden, he saw the penguin stop in his tracks and they both stared at each other
"Don't try to stop me." As he continued to limp on the wall
Peso immediately tried to grab onto him
"Please! You can't keep doing this!"
"Watch me" as he yanked his arm away wanting to get away from him
Shellington then let go of the wall and took his gun out of his pocket and pointed it at peso
He froze in fear as his pupils became small not moving
He then saw the captain and the others running his way
In one swift motion he grabbed the penguin and pointed his gun at his head
"Not another step" as he pointed the gun at the floor and shot it as a warning and pointed it back at pesos head
"Shellington please! We can talk this out!"
"You really are pathetic.. first you make sure I knew I didn't matter to this team, and you LEFT ME THERE TO DIE AND NOW YOU ACT LIKE WERE FRIENDS?! JUST HOW PATHETIC ARE YOU?!" as he pushed his finger closer to the trigger
The captain flinched back taking a step back
"YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ITS LIKE TO BE TOLD THAT NOTHING YOU DO EVER MATTERS, I SHOULD HAVE NEVER TRUSTED ANY OF YOU!"
"Your right!! I don't know what you've been through but I do know you can't do this!"
"Listen to me! We can work this out if we can talk! Look you think being alone is the only way to survive but it isn't! If you can't count on people to help you then you'll just be put under a lot of pressure! Just-"
"I thought I could count on you guys. *growls* I was perfectly happy... BEFORE YOU AND EVERYONE HERE DECIDED TO THROW ME OUT ACT LIKE I NEVER EXISTED AND MOVED ON AND IT TORE EVERYTHING IN ME APART! I was waiting.. I was. I WAS WAITING FOR YOU TO COME AND HELP ME YOU LEFT ME! HOW COULD YOU JUST LET ME DIE?!!"
At that point peso was crying in fear
"... I. Not everyone is perfect! I may be a captain but I make mistakes as well! I'm sorry you felt that way I'm sorry I just left you there! I'm sorry for everything just please let him go!"
"How do I know your not lying..?" As he lowered the gun down
"Its up to you to decide that.."
Shellington closed his eyes to think, hes been through the worst especially alone since that was his job lonesome
He dropped the gun and let go of peso, he ran to dashi and tweak and hid behind them
"Shellington, we can make this right.. take my hand and we can-"
"No. NO! I've gone too far. Theres no way I can ever come back I'm better off alone."
Barnacles sighed at the sad man, he knew what to do
He hugged shellington that's what he needed, wanted.
Shellington then felt extremely weak mentally at that point so he just let it happen as he desperately held his tears back
"Im supposed to be stronger than you. Better. So. Why am I so weak"
"Even the strongest can feel weak sometimes, even me and I know I'm supposed to have all the answers to everything but I'm only a polar bear nothing more."
"Shellington!"
That voice...
He turned around and tracker was there
"Tracker? How'd you get-"
"That doesn't matter, I've come to get you out of here"
As he grabbed onto shellington and yanked him out of barnacles arms and glared at him
"But. Tracker I-"
"What? Your gonna quit as ocean watcher? You can't. I forbid you too"
"Tracker please if we just" the captain started
"SHUT UP YOU FRAUD FOR A CAPTAIN!!"
He flinched back harshly tracker never yelled at anyone
"Shellington I'm your friend, me and professor are your only friends you can't just quit. The ocean needs you, you said it yourself you don't need these clowns they're weak but your strong on your own and look they regret everything and want you back, but they're just gonna use you again! You know that! They're gonna take you for granted again."
Shellington stared at the floor
"Take my hand. We made a deal you can't go back without you everything will die!"
Shellington grit his teeth
He was right
He couldn't go back he went too far, and just like that he accepted trackers hand
"There you go.. your lucky I came just in time to knock some sense into you" as he helped shellington head over to the launch bay
The captain stared and he just let that happen..
A... fraud..?
As he stared at the ground his confidence as a captain was getting lower each day that ocean watcher lives
Captain barnacles.
The one who always had the answer to everything
The one who had undeniable strength
The one who was always there
Had failed as a captain
He'd let pride and judgment cloud his mind and because of that
It lead to shellingtons downfall
And it's all his fault
"Captain.." kwazii said but he didn't hear him as his thoughts began to trap his vision
Barnacles then slid down the wall and buried himself in his arms and legs
"Captain!-"
Shellington: your supposed to be so smart what about all the times you had the answers? you've become weak
Tracker: fraud for a captain!
"I've failed as a captain..."
Everyone just stared at him not knowing what to do
Because it was their captain who always reassures them
It was their captain who always has the answers
It was their captain who never had a problem he couldn't solve
For the first time
He didn't have the answer
He didn't know what to do
He didn't know how to solve the problems and conflicts
And he just sat there not moving not doing anything blaming himself
Because it was his fault no one could deny that harsh truth
