"Finally!" ani ng isang boses pagkapasok na pagkapasok ni German sa bar na kinlalagian ng mga kaibigan niya. He saw three figures waiting for him. Dire-diretso lang siya sa pagpasok saka umupo kasama ang mga kaibigan. He originally didn't want to go but since malapit lang naman ang restaurant na pinanggalingan niya kanina ay tumuloy na lang din siya.
"I didn't plan to come," saad niya lang bago binuksan ang butones ng trubenized white long sleeve niya.
"Well, who cares? At least you're here," ani Clarence, na siyang nagsalita kanina pagkapasok na pagkapasok niya. Clarence was one of his...buddies. He didn't really have friends aside from these three because they grew up together. Clarence is a known actor, but his family has a business.
"What made you come, then?" tanong ni Silas.
"Aside from the girls?" Ngisi ni Fox, isa rin sa mga kaibigan niya at pinsan ni Silas.
Fox and Silas' family's business are firearms. They are dominating the country in terms of this business.
"I'm getting married," aniya at uminom. Napatigil naman ang tatlo bago napatingin sa kaniya.
"German Fritz, you, are getting married?" gulat na gulat na tanong ni Clarence sa kaibigan. Hindi rin makapaniwala si Fox at Silas sa sinabi niya.
Who can blame them though? After that incident with Jessica, he changed and never got involved with any girls again. Hearing that he'll get married again must have been a great surprise.
"The girl's interesting," aniya at umiling, "She'll be nothing more than a trophy wife but she was willing."
Hindi niya napansin ang ngisi at palitan ng tingin ng mga kaibigan sa sinabi niya sapagkat inaalala niya ang babaeng nabanggit. The girl was indeed interesting. She couldn't tell what she was thinking. Sinong matino ba ang papayag na ibenta ng mga magulang?
Erwin Garcia proposed a business deal with him. He was a businessman and any business that he thinks wouldn't profit is bad kaya tinanggihan niya ang business proposal ng mga ito. Their business was not bad kaya hindi niya alam kung ano ang rason at pinipilit ng mga ito na makipagdeal sa kaniya.
The truth is, the proposal was not at all bad but he wasn't that interested. He just thought that the girl wasn't bad that's why he agreed. Marrying her was pure business but of course it's not just that. He'll prepare a contract far from what the other party proposed.
Akala siguro ng mga ito ay katulad siya ng mga businessman na nakausap nila dati na kapag may babae ay nawawala sa huwisyo. He was far from that and looking down on him comes with a price.
"Who's daughter is she then?" tanong ni Silas.
"Garcia," sagot niya lang as if it explains everything. Which it does.
"Damn!" ani Fox, "Those sick, twisted couple that's giving away their daughters to various businessmen for connections?"
"They actually targeted you? They're looking down on you, huh." ani Clarence bago umiling. Lumamig ang mata niya pero di na umimik at uminom lang mula sa baso niya.
"That devil won't let them go, you know that." ani Silas at ngumisi, "He'll get the girl and make them pay the price for looking down on him. Di ko alam kung may mas tuso pa ba sayo, German."
Hindi siya umimik sa sinabi ng kaibigan pero umangat ang dulo ng labi niya.
