summer soon left, the colors fading
no longer was there the busy bees, the nights full of glee.
summer came and gone, a little too fast for my liking,
replaced with his aching heart, his distant stare
the leaves began to fall to the ground,
the weather growing colder,
I tried to hold him close to me.

I took him in my embrace,
breathing in the distinct scent of his touch.
He assured me that he wouldn't hurt,
Although I saw the cracks on his caramel skin.
I feared for winter.
I feared to lose him.
