SANEM POV
I move away from him to collect my shirt, putting it on.
I can't stand here having this conversation with a summer top stretched across my full boobs and bare shoulders. His eyes take in way too much and he knows that he just has to lick his lips like that and I shiver and get goosebumps.I do up the buttons in the middle, my back to the room and breathe.
The fact that Deniz is asleep and seems so comfortable on his big wide chest irks me too. He could have shown a bit of solidarity and cried just a little at being with a complete stranger, but no. The DNA bond is obviously way too strong. He seems perfectly happy and at ease.
Otherwise I would be ripping him out of his arrogant arms. This morning, I was caught off guard.
Tension, followed by utter panic and turmoil broke me.
His overbearing caveman tactics now, are making me...riled up.The paediatric nurse comes in then, which is probably a good thing.
She smiles at Can.
"Ah. Daddy's here now? So, looks like he's kept another feed down. No vomiting symptoms which is excellent. He reacted very quickly to the epi-pen and we haven't had to give him oxygen."
She looks at her watch.
"I need to do a last blood pressure reading before he goes and we'll give you an auto injector and some information, but as it's an allergy that's already in the family, I'm sure you'll be careful reading the food labels. I'm satisfied that he's in safe hands.
Literally and figuratively."Can is gently swaying back and forth, his hand still rotating on Deniz's back. His mouth just resting on his cheek.
We all start to get mesmerised by them together."Then just a follow up appointment at the out patients clinic, once we have his test results back. Do you have any questions?"
Can looks up at me and I shake my head, then he turns back to her.
"Thank you so much. I can guarantee you, there's no kiwi fruit products in my house. This won't happen again.""Of course, no problem. So, I'll get those things and then you can go."
Leyla thanks her too as she leaves and I have to respond to his remark.
"We won't have any kiwi fruit at our house anymore either, now that we know!"
He doesn't answer, just carries on happily holding Deniz."Sanem, we'll have to call Dad for a lift home. I didn't come in the car, I came in the ambulance."
"It's okay, I have my car here. I'll take you home, Leyla."
"Dad's got a car seat for Deniz. It's safer."
"I've got a car seat and you may need to collect some things to bring with you to my house, anyway."
I'm open-mouthed at his organisation and planning. He's got a car seat? Already?Leyla comes over and helps me pack up the changing bag, then pulls me into the ensuite toilet.
"You two clearly need to talk. Why don't you just go to his house and see what comes out of it."
"Leyla, the last time, I went home with him, Deniz came out of it!
We can't be trusted together. I'm telling you, sparks fly and all rational thought goes out the window. That man is a gold medal Olympic Diver and I got pregnant, the first time, while he was blind drunk. His 'swimmers' are hardcore. They play their 'A' game, at all times! It's too dangerous."She clamps her hand over her mouth.
"Ah, Sanem. Have some self control! What are you going to do then? He's not going to back down. Look at him with Deniz. They are so cute together already."
"I know. He's so fucking perfect with him. Arrghh, So, you really think I should go?"
"Yes."
"I should call Mum and Dad first. I can't have her phoning me later, if I do decide to go. "
