Chelsea POVNow that I wasn't speaking to Emily and Rebecca, I seemed to have loads of kids queuing up to be my new best friend. And yet the other day Rebecca said I wasn't popular. -_-
But I don't want them. Jake's the only one who'll listen, so I stick by Jake, much to the annoyance of Emily, who glared at Jake every time she saw him.
But I still can't tell Jake my secret.
Emily's tried to talk to me a lot, she thinks it's after what happened at the party.
"Honestly, Emily! It's got NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT!" I said - or rather shouted - at her.
"So what is it then?"
"It's absolutely NONE of your buisness," I snapped at her.
"You've gone from the quietest kid at this school to the loudest and most angry,"
"I don't care," I said, pushing past her and into the toilets.
I went straight into the corner toilet. In the toilets, I could do whatever. I could just sit there and think. And of cource I could skip double maths. That's what I was doing right now.
Jake POV:
I was sitting double maths. Ughhhhg. I looked around and once again, like every time we have double, Chelsea was missing. But now I knew that something was definitely wrong, and it's something to do with her dad. I have an idea but I really don't like it. How could someone do that to their own child?
"Oi, Brockman," I was pulled out of my thoughts by someone hissing at me.
I turned around to see Daniel Moore about to poke me with a ruler. I really hate that guy.
"What do you want?"
"Where's your little girlfriend?"
Girlfriend? Does he mean Chelsea??
"Who?" I ask.
"Chelsea,"
"Oh I don't know where she is,"
Oh I knew where she was, she was in the toilet.
"What's wrong with her why doesn't she talk to anyone,"
"It's none of your business, go away,"
I turn back around, but Daniel kept slapping the back of my head with a ruler. I just ignored him and eventually he got bored and stopped.
I was really worried about Chelsea though. I looked over at where she would normally be sitting with Emily and Rebecca. I quickly looked away because Emily was glaring at me, like always. I knew she didn't like me right from the first day, but she never glared at me until after we were all at Chelsea's house. Maybe she thinks I stole her?
Then, a thought struck me.
Did they know anything about Chelsea's problem? I could try them, although I doubted they would talk to me.
After maths, I went up to them.
"Uh, hi," I said awkwardly.
They turned around and once again, Emily glared at me. But she didn't just glare at me, she gave me the biggest death glare she'd ever given me. What did I ever do to her?
"What?" She hissed.
"I was wondering if you uh, knew anything about Chelsea's.. problem thing?"
"Why would we know about it? She doesn't talk to us,"
"I tried talking to her earlier but she just shouted at me," Rebecca added.
"Do you have any idea at-"
"Look, Brockman, it was nice talking to you but we have to go before the lunch queue gets too long. See ya," Emily said.
How was I going to find out for sure what was going on?
