Comfort In Darkness (RWBY Story)

Chapter 8

Three years have passed since (F/n) Orpheus left Beacon with bad terms by practically everyone aside from Doctor Oobleck and some of the doctors of the Medical Wing of Beacon. After the spare, but was better described as a massacre, had to got to the infirmary for a week or more.

Things did change a bit at Beacon. Most importantly, how they should treat other students, so there's no repeat of what happened with (F/n), but to prevent another massacre of what happened to the students.

But now, the first-year students are in their third year of becoming Huntsmen and Huntswomen and are slowly getting more missions. And right now, we are following Team RWBY traveling in a Bullhead. From the briefing that they got on the mission board, they need to go and patrol a village, from some recent disturbances from Grimm, so a relatively easy mission. Or at least, it was supposed to be.

-=Naporia Town, Nightfall=-

The team of Huntresses in training are fighting a group of Ursas that were moving towards Naporia, but there's a big problem slowly coming towards them. Once they killed the last Ursa, a block curling scream can be heard throughout the forest and near the town. The moment the girls heard the scream, they fell to their knees. They feel weak as if their will are being stripped away.

"What the hell is going on!?" Yang exclaimed.

"I... I don't know. We need to g-" Blake tried to say until another scream can be heard, making everyone even weaker.

They try and muster their strength and look towards the source of the scream. What they found was something that terrified them. An Apathy Grimm, and it's slowly moving towards them.

Before they could grab their weapons, the Apathy let out a third scream, rendering them defenseless and weak. Before the Grimm can reach the girls though, something unexpected happened.

Multiple dark tendrils that are darker than the night itself pierced through the chest and the head of the Apathy, killing them immediately.

"Annoying beasts," said a calm, but an annoyed voice.

The team looks towards the person who saved them, but they were shocked who they saw. There, looking at the disappearing corpse of the Apathy, was non-other then (F/n) Orpheus wearing his long black trench coat with a gray shirt and grey military pants. His (h/c) as grown longer then it was in Beacon and wrapped in a ponytail, and his expression is a neutral one.

At least, it was until he looked towards the fallen team in front of them.

"Oh for the love of Nut, Nyx, Luna and any other god and goddesses of the night and darkness," he exclaimed under his breath, "What on Remnant are you four doing here!?"

Before they could say anything though, they all fainted.

"Augh... what happened?" Ruby asked with a headache as she wakes up.

"Oh good, you're awake, Miss Rose. How are you feeling?" said a doctor as he enters the room.

"A bit dizzy, what happened? The last thing that I can remember was... taking care of some Ursas that were coming too close to the town, but then...," ruby started talking.
