Poem

july eleventh twenty-nineteen

‪Fell asleep with a tear ‬stained face
yelled again, such a disgrace
they wouldn't listen so I turned their room
Into a fiery inferno that no one mistakes

I felt so bad as I closed my eyes
That was the last they heard from me and what if I die?
What if I don't wake up and all they remember
Is that their mom yelled so much and had such a bad temper

So yelling, here's me closing the door
Because falling asleep like that leaves me wanting more
I want to teach them that sorry means something bigger
Something more than just words as we walk out the door

Your sorry must show in your actions and growth
Because your sorry means nothing when it doesn't show.
