Floof Come Home

James'POV

I was sitting at my desk, working as always. The day seemed to just pass by. I let Floof play outside in the backyard as I drew. I do this all the time and nothing ever happened. I even keep the door open just in case she wants to run back in.

I walk outside to check on her, as usual, but she wasn't there. "Floof? Floof!" I yelled out her name a few times. I looked all around my house, she was gone. I ran outside my block and did a search for her but she wasn't anywhere to be found.

"Hey James, what's up-"

"Floof is missing!" I yelled. I didn't know who else to call other than Adam. He's the first person I turn to for anything. "I left Floof in my backyard and now she's gone. She ran away Adam!"

"Calm down James, I'll be at your place as soon as possible. Maybe send a tweet or something. You have a few fans in LA, maybe they'll see something." We ended our call and I sent out a tweet. I hope Adam's right. I sat in my house alone, the only sound was the quiet squeaks of some of Floof's toys.

Adam's POV

I quickly opened the door and looked for James. The squeaks of the house leading me up to him. I can't believe Floof was gone. I mean, dogs run away a lot but Floof? Really? James was sitting at his desk making posters. "Hey, drop my phone number on that too. I'm here to help as well." I said. James nodded and typed my number on to the flier.

"Ok, now tell me what happened." I said calmly.

"I don't know. I put her outside for some fresh air while I worked. When I check outside she was gone. She wasn't in the neighborhood, or around my house. She was gone." James eyes started to fill up with tears. "This is my fault. If I wasn't such I terrible dog owner none of this would of happened. Now, she could get hurt. Maybe she got thirsty, it's hot here. Maybe she's hungry. Or worse, someone took her away and won't return her. I may never see her again!"

I held James by his shoulder and dried his eyes. "Jameson it's not your fault. Everyone loses a dog once in a while. Even I lost Thurnis once. It doesn't make you a bad owner. You care about her so much and I'm sure she'll be fine. We'll find her and I'm not leaving your side until I do."

A small smile formed on James' face. He sniffled little bit as he leaned on my shoulder. "Thanks Adam, what would I do without you?" he said. I blushed a little but I quickly shook it off. "You would be here crying instead of looking for Floof." I got up and grabbed his hand. "Now let's go find Floof!"

It was hours of walking outside. The sun, beating down on us. I was exhausted. I dried the sweat off my brow, knowing it wouldn't fix a thing. I looked at James who still seemed determined as ever. Me, on the other hand, was aching all over and dehydrated as fuck.

"James...Jameson! Can we take a break?"

"Why would we? We have to find her Adam. We have to-" James turned around and looked at me. I was about to pass out. I stumbled into James who cought me and helped me walk. "Ok, one 5 minute break. Let's go get you some water and an ice cream cone."

James'POV

It's been two hours after the ice cream break. Even my feet were hurting at this point. Adam and I were leaning on each other for support. We got a few calls but none were helpful. Some were just from fans who wanted to talk to us. Now, we had to change our phone numbers.

We decided to call it a day and head back to my house. It was starting to get dark and we were both starving. I opened the door and we both sat on the couch. "Thanks for walking around with me all day Adam. It was really nice of you."

"Don't sweat it Jameson."

"I'll go order some pizza. You want anything on it?"

"Nah, you can choose. I'll eat anything at this point."

I picked up my phone, dialed the pizza place, and placed an order. The squeaking from earlier was getting louder. "Hey James, what's that noise?" Adam asked. "Probably one of Floof's squeaky toys or something." I said.  We both calmly stayed in our seats.

"Wait." Adam mumbled.

He ran upstairs and I followed behind. We followed the squeaking up into my room. It was coming from under my bed. We checked down and low and behold, it was Floof.

"Floof!" we both cried. She ran into my arm, happily. We both started to pet her and I covered her with kisses. "I missed you so much! I'm never gonna let you out of my sight ever again. I love you so much!" She licked my face and dropped the toy she was playing with.

I found Adam staring at me. His face was bright pink as he admired me. "What?" I asked.

"Oh nothing. You're just really cute when you're happy. That's all." I blushed and looked down a Floof shyly. "I don't know what he's talking about. He's the cute one."

"Adam, I'm sorry about today. I made you run around with me for no reason. You stayed with me all day just to get Floof. I kinda just wanted your time. If I just payed attention to the noise..."

"Don't blame yourself James. I know how important Floof is to you."

"But your important to me too." We both seemed to be a little flustered after I said that. "You're always the first person I can turn to. You would never leave my side. I love you for that." I lean in and kissed Adam's soft lips. He seemed to freeze for a few seconds but kissed back.

Once I pulled back Adam looked at in awe. I laugh at his shocked face. "So, let's hanh out again and not search for Floof next time." I suggested.

"S-sure." Adam agreed.
