Ella's POV
Ever since Hailey stood up for me, it's been different. Whenever we're together it feels like my heart stops. I find myself drawing her in my sketch book more often. I've started thinking of her in the weirdest places. Everywhere I go I wanna be with her. I've even started brushing my tail around her waist. I hope she hasn't noticed....
I don't know what's wrong with me. Everything is weird. Maybe I'm sick and should tell my dads. I decided to do some research myself. After a quick Google search, I found that it was a crush.
A crush on Hailey? Really? Nah.
She's my best friend and has always been my best friend. Sure I love her but not like that, right? I checked more places and took some online quizzes, all saying that I had a crush. This makes no sense.
I mean, the internet can get things wrong 53 times right? Of course it can. Maybe I should get some real help.
I hopped off my bed and walked to go ask my dads. Dad was drawing something on his tablet. I knocked on the door and waited for him to put his pen down. "Oh hey sweetie, what do you need?" he asked.
I walked over to him and he sat me in his lap. "I'm doing this research thing for uh.... school!" I lied, hoping that he wouldn't suspect anything.
"Okay, ask what you need to ask." he said.
"What does it feel like to have a crush?" I asked.
"It's scary but also amazing. You just wanna be with this person every second of everyday. You want them to feel happy and loved. You don't ever want to see them sad. Just looking at them makes you get all flustered and you're just in awe at how sweet and talented they are. You just wanna love him to pieces." He explained.
"Him?" I asked.
A light blush covered Dad's cheeks. "Don't mind that. I meant them." He said.
"Oh okay. Thanks Dad!" I said, giving him a hug and walking out of the room so that he could finish working.
I decided to go ask Daddy too just to make it fair. He was in the living room practicing his keyboard. I waved at him shyly and he stopped playing. "Hey Ella, what do you need my little bagel bite?" he asked.
"I'm doing a research project for school and I need to know what a crush is like." I explained.
"Well crushes are huge. You don't wanna mess up around them or seem dumb. You wanna impress them and show them you care. It's like everything they do makes your heart melt. They're smile, laugh, they're hand against your's, they're soft lips, they're blond hair, how they generally rub your tail as you drift to sleep-"
"What?"
Daddy got extremely flustered. He tried to talk but nothing came out. He was talking about Dad and Daddy was talking about him. But they're married, they can't still have crushes on each other right. But...they can still love each other.
"Daddy, is a crush about love?"
He looked down at me, still red tomato. "Yeah, I guess it is." he tail ruffling through my hair. I quickly thanked him and walked back to my room.
"Maybe they're right, I do all the things they said. Could I really have a crush on Hailey?" I asked myself.
After pondering to myself for a few note minutes and thinking about what they aid I think it's true.
"I do have a crush on Hailey!" I said excitedly. I started to giggle and blush at the idea of Hailey running across my mind. I then stopped and thoughts a little harder for a second.
"I'm gay."
