Beth sat on the window sill, Hannah was buzzing around her room changing the sheets on her bed, while she sat all bundled up in the spare doona.

The old lady picked up the laundry basket and rushed out. After her, the three eldest March siblings flooded in.

"How are you feeling Bethy?"

"I'm alright." She flashed a warm smile. "Where's Amy?"

"She was sent off to Aunt Marches yesterday love." Meg replied, rubbing her small sisters sides.

"We couldn't risk her catching it." Abby added, unsure whether she should mention the brutal ailment of which her sister was suffering.

"We wanted to come to say goodbye." Jo smiled softly. "We're all going into town for supplies with Laurie."

Beth nodded.

"Teddy only gets to come so he can carry things." Abby joked, which made the bed ridden girl let out a croaky laugh.

With that, the March sisters rushed out of the old room, all except Beth, who could hardly move a muscle.

The young girl continued with some unfinished sewing, which wasn't as up to standard as she would have liked, but it would do.

She hummed a sweet tune and gazed out the window, smiling her sisters who were running towards the Laurence home.

Laurie appeared from the door, took Abby's arm and kissed her softly.
