beautiful loneliness

"What made something precious? Losing it and finding it."

Cotton clouds and candy skies;
Hot air balloons illuminate the night.
A fragrance of joy and an aura of love;
Nature born to make us tough.
Find yourself in the river of serenity;
Dodge droplets of water at the waterfall.
Trees sway so beautifully;
Like a couple at their wedding; everything's calm.
A colourful venture into bohemia;
A manic yet mystical exploration of euphoria.

Too much pressure makes a diamond;
A gem so wondrous; so vibrant.
I love my friends, I really do;
But sometimes I hate them too.
I've been wandering in this realm of isolation;
Searching for a way to resist temptation.
I've been a loner; it's a tale as old as time;
I find solace in my rhymes.
I'd die if you died for me;
Please don't make me more lonely.

But I can see beauty in being alone;
There's something so special about loving yourself.
I can see peace in a silenced phone;
Unreliability is truly a weight off my chest.
I can be me in this empty home;
Oh, how beautiful is this loneliness;
I am at ease with this beautiful loneliness.

I'm in my backyard;
It's a clammy summer's eve.
I can hear faint voices, in the distance, so far;
They sound like they're blowing through the trees.
I'm unacquainted with this kind of tranquility;
It's handed me a newfound a ability;
A way to be kind and a way to be great;
A chance to love life; and a chance to change.

I catch a hint of freshly baked buns in the air;
I'm as light as feather; lacking a care.
But I know people are probably gossiping behind my back;
And, here, I'm preparing for their vindictive attack.
"He's a loner, he's a lunatic",
Isn't there something so fantastic about this?
I can write whatever story I wish;
And nobody will ever have to read it.
I could confess my darkest sins to the wind of the night;
And nobody will ever hear them; not even daylight.

I'm bend over backwards with sheer delight;
This introverted maniac finally got something right.
There's golden stardust falling from the sky;
It's glimmer bounces off of me, myself and I.
There's beauty in being alone;
There's wonder in the unknown.
You'd think all I'd feel is emptiness;
But, how can I when I'm enchanted by this beautiful loneliness?
