You are my abstraction.
You are my abstraction.
You are my abstraction.

It's like the rain is falling in reverse;
Somber smiles and harrowed hurt.
A winner can only stay in power for so long;
I'm right here until I'm too far gone.
I can see a beauty in death;
After all, it's heaven sent.
I just can't shake this immense sorrow;
Sad that I won't see you tomorrow.

I never knew you but I know you've known me;
The kid who didn't have a name until he died.
Your mother never got to hold you; did you know that?
She couldn't attend your funeral; she wanted her little boy back;
Even so, most wouldn't call being buried in a box by your dad a funeral;
But times were tough and death isn't reasonable.
Born into an unmarked grave;
Don't worry; you're safe.
Every time I think of you, James, I shed a tear;
We both know heaven's the real enemy here.

I know you had integrity;
Though, you were just a baby.
I can only imagine how you would've impacted me;
Just know I can feel you here; lingering.
I wonder if you're proud of your nephew;
The kid you never knew.
I wonder if you're happy now;
I hope I've made you proud.

I hate life and I hate death;
Why can't we all live in some kind of purgatory?
We could close our eyes to rest;
Sing me to sleep with your wonderful life story.
Heaven has always been the real enemy here;
It tore you away from me; and I, you;
I love you; I know you love me too.
I know you are my creativity;
You're the only one who'll ever see me.

You are my abstraction.
You are my abstraction.
You are my abstraction.
