"Those of you who passed the test make a line! The next test will be on a first come, first serve basis!" Our test guide, yellowy explained.

Everyone got into a line and waited. It was slow and boring, but I couldn't help feel nervous. It was like I was experiencing black friday all over again.

"Hatz." I said, trying to make small talk. He didn't look like he was going to kill me like Anaak did, and he didn't look as annoying as Shibisu.

He turned to me.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but...are you some sort of samurai or something?" I asked.

"What makes you think so?" He replied.

I put my hand on my chin as though I were thinking really hard.

"Hmmmmm...your clothes, I guess? Well, that and the way you present yourself is pretty samurai-esque to me. Was I wrong?"

He shook his head in response.

"No, you are somewhat correct. Neither of my parents are actually samurai, but my dad was a swordsmith. I've liked swords since I was young, so I grew up with the spirit of a swordsman."

"Ooohh." I responded.

To be honest, 'spirit of a swordsman' was a bit cheesy, but that also made it kind of cute in a way.

"What is it?" Hatz asked, noticing that I was still staring.

"Oh, um, I was just thinking that it was pretty cool that you grew up with the spirit of a swordsman. I mean 'cool' like it's respectable of course." I said, panicking a bit at the end.

Hatz just gave me a small smile.

What.

Oh my gosh that was so cute.

"I'm glad that you feel that way. Many people that I have met do not follow the righteous path of a warrior anymore. It's good to see someone who understands." Hatz said.

"Actually, if I may ask, where exactly do you come from?" Hatz asked.

I hesitated for a moment. I'm still trying to find the answer to that same question.

"Well, you see-"

"Hey pals. What're you all doing?" Said an unknown voice.

We both turned around to the source of the voice, and apparently Anaak and Shibisu noticed it too. It was a balloon...? But he had a face. Wierd.

"What do you want?" Anaak asked, displeased.

Honestly, that guy gave me the creeps too.

"I came here...to give you a huge hint about the test." He said.

What? I don't understand why he would do that...but lucky us?

"How can we even trust you?" Hatz asked, gripping onto his sword.

"Now, now, we're all in the same boat here. Just listen to what I've deduced." The balloon replied, putting his hands up in defense.

"What? But there's nothing to deduce." Shibisu said.

"Yes, there is. The biggest clue has been given during each test. It's the time. Think about it, all teams that screamed only screamed after five minutes. All that didn't scream passed within 4-5 minutes. The administrators are letting us hear the screams. In other words," he said, getting uncomfortabley close to my face, "they are telling us to pass in five minutes."

Before any of us could respond, we were called in. The wierd balloon man waved us goodbye, and gave us a small 'good luck.'

When we entered, the administrator gave us a time limit and told us to open a door out of the 12 that were there. At first, I was going to just open a random one for the hell of it, but what if I got it wrong? Not only me, but my teammates would face the punishment. What about what the balloon guy said? Honestly, I don't even understand what he said. Was there some kind of trick? Maybe we had to wait till the 5 minutes were over? But everyone screamed after 5 minutes. Dammit, I'm getting nowhere-

"Congratulations, Anaak, Hatsu,
(y/n), and Shibisu. You passed the test." The ranker said, interrupting my thoughts.

"What?"

I looked and saw that a door was open.

"Amazing. How did you get the answer?" The ranker asked Shibisu.

Shibisu began explaining all three hints carefully and in detail.

"In other words, 'you don't have to look for more hints.' Which also means, 'the answer can be drawn from the hints provided.' This can also mean, 'open a door within 5 minutes' because there won't be any more hints after 5 minutes." Shibisu finished, looking a bit smug.

"Great! You passed the test perfectly." The ranker replied.

I was still in shock, while Anaak and Hatz were probably just thinking about how he's not as useless as they first thought. The people here were definitely crazy. Even though he looks so normal, how was he able to deduce all of that information? I'll never understand geniuses.

"Shibisu are you sure that you're not Edogawa Ranpo or something? That was amazing back there, I wouldn't have figured it out at all." I said as we walked to our next destination.

He gave me a smug look.

"Let's just call it one of the many weapons in my artillery." He replied.

"Don't give him a bigger head than he already has, (y/n)."

"Hey! My head is not big!"
