Chapter 04: Reason

"You usually stay here?" I asked Asahi while looking up to the sky. It is really refreshing to see how nature always manages a way to show us how incredible its features are.

"Well, you can say that," he answered simply. I nodded, still looking at the light blue skies, also admiring the peaceful-looking clouds on it.

"I love summer." I turned my gaze to him. Our eyes immediately met. He's looking at me intently, gazes were full of unreadable thoughts.

"You don't know how glad I am to see you.

Kahit kailan mo naisin. Nandito lang ako palagi," malumanay niyang tugon.

I stared at him for a few seconds, getting happy and confused at the same time. But I still managed to smile and show him how great it feels to hear what he had said.

Napakaraming bulaklak doon and I'm sure that you'll love the animals wandering around there," suhestiyon niya na ikinangiti ko lalo.

I can't explain how happy I am right now. It feels surreal. I don't know how to calm my overwhelming feelings. Parang ang sakit na nangingibabaw ang saya. Everytime I look at him, I want to touch his handsome face and praise him all day. My feelings for him didn't even fade a bit. My young heart got matured and it now beats stronger and wilder for him.

"Aren't you mad at me, Asahi?" I asked and plastered an uncomfortable and apologetic smile. He raised his brow and chuckled a bit.

"Why would I be, Sumi? Ako nga ang dapat magtanong niyan. I left you... alone. And I couldn't even go back and stay with you. I'm sorry."

I let out a loud sigh and brought my eyes back at the skies. "Right... You left me. You left me and all I c-can do is to feel bad and regret the childish acts I've done. You left me, leaving a scar which I know that it won't f-fade... It's unfair... but I admit that I was more unfair than y-you...

You shouldn't be sorry for the things you didn't mean to do and regret the awful situations you didn't wish for..."

"No. I know I'm a-at fault but I'm happy to hear... that you aren't mad at me... It's a big help for me to move on... I won't mind regretting it for the rest of my lif-"

"No, please. It's okay. You shouldn't be guilty-"

"He's right, Natsumi. You're apologizing for the wrong person. Talking to a mad man. Feeling regretful in front of this dip shit who's just fooling you. He's right. Don't apologize and go back to where you belong. Why do you keep on going here, anyway? Tss." I heard Haru's voice from behind.
