There was an awkward silence for about a minute. James was the same colour as Lily was. Because even though he really wanted to kiss her, he didn't want it like this.

"Look, we don't need to kiss, we'll just go down, and tell them we di-mphf" James started, but was cut off. Lily had grabbed hold of his loose tie, dragged him down towards herself and pressed her lips against his.

They stood there, just kissing, for about another minute, when James broke it off. "We should probably go back downstairs, if you don't want them to think we actually kissed you know." "Yeah, but, is it fine by you, if we keep it secret?" "Of course Evans, if you want to be my secret girlfriend that's fine by me!" James said with a light but understanding look and a slight smirk.

Lily smiled at him in a thankful way, before planting another light kiss on his lips, and making her way towards the door. James right at her heels.

When they got down, everyone was staring at them. Even some of the other students in the common room had watched, knowing James' undying love for her, and the fact that they were alone.

"So d'you do it?" Sirius asked eagerly, everyone was still smirking. "We're not gonna fucking snog if she's not comfortable Pads." James said, walking back to his seat. Sirius snorted, and looked very displeased with the answer he got.

They played a few more rounds, then decided to go off to bed. It was, after all, almost midnight, and they had school the next day. So the girls went up to their dorms, and the boys went up to theirs.

About two days later, James was about to go up to the common room to his free period woth the others, when something pulled his collar, dragging him back behind all his classmates. He found himself in an abandoned corridor when he turned to see who it was.

"Lily! To what do I owe this pleasure?" He asked with a smile more warm than a smirk, which he usually wore. "Care for a little snog in the Room of Requirements?" She said, now her being the one go wear the smirk. James, of course, said yes amd returned to the common room an hour later. Lily had gone to the library to borrow a book.

"Where've you been?" Remus asked when he came through the portratehole. "Detention," he said, he figured it would be the most believeble answer. Remus was working on his homework, which was what the breaks were for, but none of the others did it of course.

This happened now more then once. Lily and James were often sneaking off to the ROR. or to a nearby broomcloset. They said goodbye to each other after getting off the train home for christmas. All the marauders were staying with the Potters this year. They'd all been invited since first year, but Sirius' parents never let him go. Now that he was disowned and had run away, he could finally join his other friends.

They were walking towards the barrier to get to the other side, when Sirius saw a familiar black-haired couple walking toward his little brother, whom was walking toward his parents.

Right before Regulus had reached his parents, Sirius pulled him into a huge hug right in front of them. Wether it was to spite his parents, or simply to say merry christmas to his brother, he didn't even know himself.

But as soon as Sirius pulled away, he was greeted by his parents with Walburga slapping him hard across the face, and pointing her wand at his neck. Mrs. Potter, who had just come to see the four boys together with her husband, let out a gasp.

"Don't you ever touch my son you filth!" Walburga said, ignoring the people who were watching. Before Sirius could do anything, Mrs. Potter pulled out her own wand and pointed it at Walburga. "To say something like that, to you own son!" She said, but Sirius gestured her to put her wand down. "It's fine, really," he turned to Walburga, took hold of her arm, and pulled it away from his neck, "as long as you don't touch my brother!" He said, and turned away.

He was greeted with a warm hug by Mr. and Mrs. Potter, whom were both scowling over at the Black's. "Why didn't you cime sooner?" Mrs. Potter said with a teary voice. "To live with such an awful family for sixteen years!" "No it's fine, and they were much better befire I got sorted into Griffindoor anyways, so it was technically just five years."

-

Christmas at the Potter's was always amazing. Christmas trees, eggnog, gingerbread men, gifts, lights, and everything you could dream of. It was like having a real family. For all four of the boys.

Sirius hated his family with all his gut. They were physically abusive, mantally abusive, racist, homophobic, they believed men were better than women, and everything else that is wrong with the world.

Peter's parents were a little different. It's not like he hated bothe of them, but he did hate his mum. She had walked out on his father when she was pregnant. The reason she walked out, is because she cheated, after she found out she was pregnant. And if that was'nt enough, Peter had just found out two years ago tgat it was'nt his dad that had left them, it was the other way around. He had gone all his life, hating his dad, and his mum didn't even bother to tell the truth that she was actually the bad one. And Peter still had to live with her, because he had no idea who his father was or how to find him.

Remus' parents weren't around much. They never admittet it, but they were scared of him. They didn't trust him at all. They thought that he would be a death eater just because he was a wherewolf. And the fact that his best friend was a Black didn't help. No matter how much Remus told them that Sirius was the opposite of his family, they always just ignored it.

But James' parents, they were perfect. They were happy, loving, caring, funny, understanding, and everything good you can think of. They took in anyone who wanted to stay a night, or a week, or even years. They helped those in need, and used every single knut they had to make everyone's lives better.

None of the boys wanted to leave for school. It was the best two weeks they had had. The train ride back to Hogwarts was cheerful and filled with laughter. After about half the ride, there was a knock on the compartment door and it slid open.

Behind it stood Lily and Mary. "Fine if we joine you?" Lily asked, "Sure." Remus answered. "Where's Alice and Marlene?" Peter asked when only two of the usually four girls had walked in. "Narcissa and frank, they're sharing a compartment the four of them, liek a double date. That's why we came, it was quite lonely with only the two of us." Lily answered after sitting down very close to James, and Mary sat down between Sirius and the wall.

The rest of the train ride went on pretty similar to the way it had before, only that there were two more people who could thell about their christmas.

-

It was the fifth of January. The snow outside was perfect, so of course Sirius wanted to have a snowball fight! Although there was something missing. Many people agreed to joine after dinner, but there was someone Sirius hadn't seen since their last class.

James. Sirius had barely seen James at all since November. Where he was, Sirius didn't know, but he decided to go and look for him before he started. Sirius was really lousy at finding stuff (and people), so he decuded to just go straight for the Marauders map to find him.

He walked up to the common room, and found Remus sitting over his homework. How is he so cute? He's litterly just doing homework! He thought. He had found that, lately, he couldn't get Remus off his mind. And apparently other people had picked up on this. He gave off a gay vibe? What's that even supposed to mean? He was lucky Remus had come up with that being french-excuse, he would've never thought of that himself.

"Hey Pads," Remus said looking up from his homework. "Hey. You wanna go joine my snowball fight?" "Sure, this work is boring as fuck! Why are you going upstairs?" Remus asked when Sirius headed for the stairs. "Haven't seen Prongsie anywhere, so I'm checking the map!" "Did you even look for him?" Remus asked, trying not to roll his eyes at the beaitifully handsome boy standing in front of him. "Nope!" Sirius answered before running up the stairs.

His questions, however, about where James was, was answered a lot faster than he expected. He opened the door to find Lily and James making out on James' bed, James not wearing a shirt, and Lily with her shirt open and her tie hanging untied around her neck.

Heh. So I was going to make this longer, but I wanted to leave on a cliffhanger. Hope you liked it!

Ps: I'm writing another story about next gen and time traveling. (Yes I know that all the next gen stories are about time traveling but I don't care.) It's probably gonna be short, but oh well.
