📅 a sunday ?

You stood up, stretching your tired muscles. You had just finished studying and felt like going for a run. You changed into your gym clothes and put on your running shoes.

"I'm going out for a run!" You announced, unlocking the front door.

"Ah, y/n! Get us dango when you're at it! I've been craving for some!" Your mother shouted back. You sighed and shouted back a yes before exiting the house.

As you stepped on the pavement and breathed in the fresh air, you looked around and started to walk a bit before accelerating into a jog. You jogged for quite some time when someone had caught up beside you.

"H-hajime?" Blurted you as you recognised the person. Hajime let out a chuckle and waved.

"The weather's nice today isn't it?" Hajime asked, looking at the sky. You smiled and nodded, looking ahead. The two of you shared small conversations as you jogged before deciding to stop. You only realised you had been jogging for about 30 minites as you took a sip from your waterbottle.

"Hajime, if you're free, would like to get some dangos with me?" You asked, looking up at the male. Hajime smiled and nodded, accepting the offer.

The two of you made your way to your family's favourite dango shop.

"Ah, y/n! Getting some dangos for your parents?" Aunt Miki, the shop owner, asked.

"Yes! The usuals please. Add in 3 more Mitirashi Dangos for me too!" You chirped, taking out your wallet. You looked over to Hajime who was deep in thought as he contemplated on what dangos he should buy. You let out a giggle and recommended him some of the other dangos that you liked.

"Ahhh, thanks, y/n," Hajime smiled as he started to order his dangos. You took a bite from your food and waited for the male. Once he had bought his treats, the two of you walked around the neighbourhood and shared many conversations.

"It's fun being around you, y/n," Hajime randomly blurted out when the both of you went silent for awhile, admiring the sunset.

You felt heat struck your cheeks and you heart skip a beat. A smile then snuck its way on your face as you looked at the male who was looking at the sunset.

Despite being awkward and quite the introvert around others, you were glad that Hajime and Oikawa stuck around. Ever since you have become involved with the two along with Izumi, you felt yourself open up more to others. Especially with Hajime, he had always been beside you to assist you on even the smallest of things. You were truly grateful to have been forced on the assistant manager role because without this, you would still be the y/n who does not step out of her comfort zone to try new things.

"I like being around you too, Hajime," you shyly confessed. Hajime turned to look at you with a smile as he ruffled your hair.

"Let's walk you back," Hajime beamed. You nodded with a smile.

Next day during lunch

"Honestly Iwa chan, when are you going to confess?" Oikawa casually asked the ace as the two chilled at a remote area in school.

"I don't know... what if she doesn't like me back?" Hajime sighed, leaning his back against the wall.

"Wow... that's the first time you've ever admitted your feelings for her to me..." Oikawa blurted with his eyes widened. Hajime gave the brunette a little glare before looking back up at the sky with a sigh.

"You know... it's obvious the both of you are head over heels for each other. Remember Izumi's sleepover?" Oikawa chuckled, thinking back to the little gathering the four of you had. Hajime felt the corners of lips curve up, remembering how tightly you clung onto him because of how terrified you were of the movies.

"You should really try and confess to her. If she really loves you, she would say so. If she doesn't then she's just not the right one," Oikawa simply said.

"When were you so interested in me?," Hajime asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Is it wrong for me to want my best friend to be happy?" Oikawa chuckled. "I'm truly rooting for you and y/n. You better not give up!" Oikawa added, punching the ace softly on the arm. Hajime let out a chuckle and nodded.
